A dressing room where the furniture had to become part of the architecture.

For this Bredhurst, Kent project, the ceiling changes from approximately 924mm at its lowest point to 3,256mm at its highest, with angled sections and a difficult structural beam to work around.

We created completely bespoke full carcass furniture using the Mallory range, with Egger Dark Brown Eucalyptus externally and Beige Grey Lorenzo Oak inside. The lower wardrobes follow the ceiling slope, while the taller open sections provide long and double hanging.

At the centre is an approximately 900mm-high glass-topped island. Its deep top drawer hides a second bespoke pull-out organiser divided for jewellery and ties. The room also includes a fitted dressing table beneath the Velux area, adjustable shoe storage and a lower wardrobe with a full mirrored front door.

A shallow loft alcove, but still plenty of potential for useful storage.

For this St Albans guest bedroom, the available alcove was around 560mm deep, so we designed the wardrobes at 550mm depth rather than trying to force standard-sized cabinets into the space.

The finished layout combines an 866mm double wardrobe with a 433mm single, giving us balanced Rockingham shaker door proportions and two practical types of storage: long hanging with a top shelf, plus five adjustable shelves.

Finished in Indigo Blue with Lancaster Oak interiors and brushed knurled brass handles.

Four alcoves. Four different widths. One consistent fitted bedroom design.

This master bedroom in a renovated Victorian property in Battersea had four separate alcoves — but none of them were quite the same size.

Rather than using standard-width wardrobes and making up the differences with oversized fillers, we manufactured each wardrobe individually:

870mm
880mm
820mm
850mm

The wardrobes are from our Rockingham Price Group 5 specification, but this project shows just how flexible the range can be.

Instead of a traditional shaker door, the customer wanted a clean modern look, so we created Pure White flat slab vinyl doors with a bespoke J-pull detail running approximately 40% of the door height.

Inside, we used Egger Light Natural Casella Oak with a mixture of hanging space, shelving and shoe storage.

The room itself is 2642mm high, with the wardrobes manufactured at 2570mm to make strong use of those generous Victorian proportions.

A nice example of what made to measure really means — designing the furniture around the actual room rather than making the room fit standard furniture.

A second fitted wardrobe project for the same Bishop's Stortford customer — around six years after the first.

The master bedroom had been extended again to create a new dressing-room area, but the new space came with another familiar challenge: a rear sloping ceiling.

For the new wardrobes we used our Rockingham shaker range in Stone woodgrain, with:

mirrored upper recessed shaker panels
matt black Oriel handles
three external drawers beneath each wardrobe section
full-height doors at the front
angled wardrobe backs internally to follow the ceiling slope
a traditional cornice above

The new run includes a 932mm double wardrobe and a 466mm single wardrobe.

The customer also wanted the wardrobes from our original installation updated to match. Their existing carcasses and internals were retained, while the doors, plinths, scribe panels and handles were replaced and a new traditional cornice was added.

A particularly important detail was lining the shaker mid rails through across the whole room, so the older wardrobes and the new dressing-room furniture flow together.

And there was no need to force the doors awkwardly into the steep ceiling angle: finishing them slightly lower allowed the cornice to work cleanly without a large angled filler panel.

A fitted wardrobe project where the height of the room drove the design.

These High Gloss Cashmere wardrobes were created for a guest bedroom in Hertford Heath, Hertfordshire, with a ceiling height of 2981mm.

Rather than leave a large unused space above the main wardrobes, we designed a 2400mm lower section with separate 480mm top boxes above. The result makes practical use of almost the full room height without relying on one oversized wardrobe door or cabinet.

Other details include:

Beige Linen wardrobe interiors
long and double hanging
shoe storage
a fully shelved section
sensor-operated lighting inside every lower wardrobe section
brushed antique brass handles
push-to-open top boxes
contrasting Black Brown Sorano Oak framing

The installation also had to work around substantial existing decorative coving and concealed boxing within the alcove. The furniture was hand scribed to the existing room details, while part of the shelving section was made shallower so the visible wardrobe frontage could remain straight.

It is also one of three rooms we have completed for the same client over a number of years.
