Our journey began over 85 years ago when Frank Dobson first started Dobsons in 1935, on the same Hertfordshire site that we remain on today. Our stunning Cheshunt showroom houses bespoke kitchen furniture in large room sets, showcasing the latest trends alongside premium appliances, whilst our Villeroy and Boch bathroom studio displays the finest in luxury bathing and showering. We also have a large area dedicated to our window and door offering included aluminum bi fold and sliding doors.

Yes we did it!!! We are very proud to have won an award last night at the National Family Business of the Year Awards 2026!

We were honoured with the award for 'Societal Impact' which is awarded to family businesses who are giving back to their community and doing something positive within their local area. Our Director Helen who attended the awards was selected because of her involvement with Love Cheshunt, which she founded in 2023, to improve Cheshunt High Street. Love Cheshunt provides free activities for local families to do in the town and connects local business owners together.

We were also runner's up in the 'Property and Construction Family Business of the Year' category.

The awards ceremony was held at The Royal Geographical Society, in South Kensington, with hundred of family businesses from across the UK in attendance.
Director Helen said of the win. 'It is a huge honour to win a national award and be recognised in such a way, especially one that combines my two passions, my family business, which I am proud to be in the 4th generation of, and my community work which is so important to me.'

🏔️ Kilimanjaro Update – Day 6

The mountain is really starting to test the team now.

After days of trekking and climbing higher and higher, they are now reaching altitudes above 4,500m, where every step becomes more challenging and the effects of altitude can really take their toll. Despite a few team members battling altitude sickness, everyone is determined to keep pushing forward.

Today’s destination is Barafu Camp (4,600m) – the final camp before the summit attempt. The route is tough, with steep climbs, rocky terrain and thin air making even simple tasks feel exhausting.

For Matthew and the team, this is where the challenge becomes as much mental as physical.

Tonight will be a chance to rest, refuel and prepare for the biggest test of all as the summit push begins in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Looking towards the other side of the room in our recent Cheshunt bathroom project now and you can see the stylish 'Chic' vanity unit in 'Pewter Fusion' from Utopia, with its two drawer storage.

Above is an illuminated mirror cabinet by Keuco and they are mounted on the gorgeous 'Metalcraft' tiles from Villeroy and Boch in shade 'Petrol' with their green/grey hues.
