Most shutters open inward like a door or stay fixed in the frame. Tracked bi-fold shutters work differently.
Mounted on a top track, the panels fold back in a concertina fashion, tucking neatly to one or both sides when fully open, leaving the entire opening completely clear.

Tracked bi-fold shutters work best on patio doors and large openings where the panels fold entirely to the side, floor-to-ceiling windows where you want maximum light when open and complete privacy when closed, room dividers that create distinct zones in open-plan living spaces, and wide glass doors where smooth, effortless operation matters even on larger panels.
