🌳🏡🌲🌴 Another stunning garden transformation by RSL Landscapes! 🌞

This project in Chester was all about creating a modern, practical outdoor space with a clean, contemporary finish and plenty of WOW factor! 👌

Working closely with our clients, we designed and project managed the entire transformation from start to finish, creating a beautiful garden that combines stylish porcelain paving, fresh green lawn and bespoke timber features. 🌿

✨ The transformation included:

🪨 Porcelain Paving 50m² of stunning Talasey Cava Quartz Lucio 600 x 600 porcelain paving, creating a sleek and modern outdoor entertaining space.

⬛ Tobermore Block Paving Charcoal block paving edging bands surrounding the lawn, providing a crisp, defined finish and tying the whole garden together.

🌱 Fresh New Lawn A beautifully finished lawn, framed with charcoal block paving for that clean, contemporary look.

🪵 Raised Sleeper Borders Brown timber sleeper retaining borders, creating definition and a natural finish throughout the garden.

🏡 New Boundary Fencing Full perimeter bay fencing, providing privacy and a smart, uniform finish.

💧 Drainage Improvements Existing clay drainage replaced with modern plastic drainage, along with a recessed manhole cover for a seamless finish.

🛠️ Bespoke Shed Installation A new shed base constructed and a shed supplied and fitted, creating a practical storage solution without compromising the overall design.

📐 Designed & Project Managed by RSL Landscapes From the initial design through to the final finishing touches, we managed the entire project, ensuring every detail came together to create this fantastic outdoor space.

The result? A modern, low-maintenance garden with clean lines, beautiful materials and a fresh new look! 🌳🏡🌞

☀️ NOW TAKING BOOKINGS for Summer 2026 Garden Transformations ☀️

🌿 PROJECT CASE STUDY | PORCELAIN LIFT & RELAY 🌿

Another project nearly ready for grout before final handover to the Renson gazebo & outdoor kitchen team 🔥

This garden has undergone a complete transformation to create a high-end outdoor living and entertainment space ready for summer 2026 ☀️

Materials used throughout the project:

▫️ Kandla Grey 600x900 porcelain to the lower kitchen & hot tub area, including tiers, paving and upstands
▫️ Anthracite 450x900 porcelain to the upper terrace and pathways

The contrast between the warm Kandla Grey and the sleek Anthracite porcelain has created a clean, modern finish throughout the garden 👌

Key features included:

✅ Premium porcelain paving
✅ Tiered garden construction
✅ Porcelain upstands & coping details
✅ Linear drainage systems
✅ New bay fencing installation
✅ Preparation works for luxury gazebo & outdoor kitchen installation

However, this project also required a full lift and relay of the upper Anthracite porcelain terrace due to major failures from a previous installation ❌

During excavation we uncovered several issues including:

▫️ Delaminating and lifting porcelain
▫️ No slurry primer or bonding mortar used
▫️ Paving not installed on a full mortar bed
▫️ Freeze-thaw capillary movement beneath the slabs
▫️ Inadequate sub-base preparation
▫️ No geotextile membrane installed
▫️ No structural footings or blockwork to support porcelain upstands
▫️ Upstands only fixed with mortar adhesive

Unfortunately, the client has had to pay twice to achieve the correct installation standard.

This project highlights the importance of correct groundwork, preparation and installation methods when working with porcelain paving systems.

The cheapest quotation is not always the best quotation.

At RSL Landscapes we install all projects to the correct industry and British Standard practices to ensure durability, longevity and a premium finish built to last 👌

We’re looking forward to showcasing the completed project once the Renson gazebo and outdoor kitchen are fully installed 🔥
