This peanut butter tree (Clerodendrum trichotomum) has finally produced berries and the reason they are super fun is, yes the tree smells of peanut butter but even better those blue berries dye blue!
I used couple of the BFL wool silk embroidery skeins, and it worked a treat.
1. The berries were cooked on a low heat.
2. Squished to release the colour
3. Added the skeins and waited for the dye to exhaust.
No mordants needed.
These berries were not quite ripe but still gave a lovely pale blue colour.
