It's Kirsty (on the right), much-loved legend amongst the bunch, holding a JOY banana.

Which feels kinda perfect because when the POWER Hoody was still just an idea, Kirsty helped me find the JOY and possibility in bringing it to life.

Through her brilliant business KIDS ANTENATAL CLASSES she spends her days bringing ideas to life, so when the POWER Hoody idea appeared, she was all over it.

Before long, I had mock-ups everywhere.

Hoodies. Sweatshirts. Zips. No zips. Different logo placements. Different colours. Bananas appearing in all sorts of places.

And not just POWER-green paint, but glittery POWER-green paint too (the glitter didn't make the cut, this time).

The superwoman behind glittery POWER-green prototypes, endless encouragement for anything POWER-related, and an incredible ability to turn "what if?" into "let's see."

So, is Kirsty currently sat at home printing every POWER Hoody while I type this?

No. Her part in the magic was done.

The next chapter of the magic is with POWER Hoody legend number three. 👀

Because some of the best things in POWER happen when one of the bunch throws an idea into the bananaverse and together we bring it to life.

Back in August, I received a message from Helen:

"I feel like I'd like to sit at TEDx with a POWER hoody on x"

That was it. 💥

What started as a WhatsApp message from one of the bunch became the POWER hoody, with some EXCELLENT banana doodles bringing the idea to life.

I love that the bunch has an idea, shares it, and together we make it happen.

When the first hoody arrived, Helen was the first to try it on.

"I want to wear it home."

Another message arrived later:

"For me, I liked how soft it was, both inside and outside."

Then, when I unleashed the hoody into the wilds of Instagram, one of the bunch commented:

"I'll be getting one. If I can't get to you, at least I can wear a bit of POWER." 😍

That's exactly what I'd hoped for.

Designed for the moments you need a little reminder of who you are, how loved you are, and what you're capable of.

Because sometimes all it takes is pulling on a hoody... and something shifts.

Still smiling about this bananas birthday moment on the beach with Jane Wake

In 2024, Jane stepped off the The Athena Effect panel with Dame Kelly Holmes in London, walked straight up to me and said:

"You're the banana lady." (My heart exploded.)

Jane had heard about POWER on the Beach.

And now here we are, living it.

After all the wild twists and turns of life, we're no longer meeting up in London...

WE LIVE HERE!! 💥

(I promise you, it never gets old).

And we get to celebrate your birthday on the Beach.

Via our first collaboration at Tooting Bec Lido, the sequel in Chichester, banana adventures 'on the Beach and 'on the Water with Leine, and all the moments in between, one thing led to another and one of life's happiest plot twists happened...

You now live up the road from me, not in London.

One conversation after a panel becomes a friendship. A shared passion becomes a collaboration. Then somehow, a few years later, you're saying yes to Sunday lunch and a glass of fizz because that person has become part of your life.

How MAGIC life is. 💛

Love you, Jane. Thank you for the adventures, the friendship, and for proving that life's best stories are rarely the ones we plan.

Here's to more sunny weekends ‘on the Beach, sharing TEDx together in a couple of weeks' time, and whatever MAGIC comes next. ✨

In May, the bunch came together in support of My Sisters' House at the Bognor 10k with a simple goal beyond fundraising ...

To make so much positive noise that My Sisters' House CIO | Women's Centre in Chichester & Arun would be impossible to ignore when the 2027 Charity of the Year was chosen.

Yesterday, MSH was announced as the Bognor Prom Running Festival for 2027. 💥

SUCCESS.

Together, the bunch raised more than £10,000, including Gift Aid, sparked conversations and shone a spotlight on the work MSH does.

In the words of CEO Avril:

"Without a doubt, the POWER Is Bananas bunch most definitely will have played a significant part in the members' votes."

I hope you bunch feel super-proud of what you've helped create. 🤩

I say it almost every time. (This is POWER. There is no script.)

It makes my heart explode when I see the bunch scribbling bananachat on their bananas. My real-time words, becoming mental strength takeaways. Mantras that land. And last.

Then, at the end of their very first POWER experience, they say:

"I need you in my ears every morning." 💬
