We’re Clothkits, an independent sewing and fabric shop that’s been inspiring people to get creative for over 50 years!

Our Chichester shop is full of beautiful fabrics, sewing kits, patterns, haberdashery, yarn and plenty more for anyone who loves making things. We even have our own workshop space where you can come along and learn something new! ✂️

Our lovely team are always happy to help, whether you’re completely new to sewing or have been doing it for years.

Nearly 10 years ago, Laura began Sew Different as a sewing blog, a space to share her original designs and let her creativity flow. What started as a passion project has grown into a much-loved business.

Did you know we have a workshop space right here at Clothkits? 👀 Tucked away in our Chichester shop is our lovely creative studio, where we host a whole range of sewing and craft workshops!

There’s plenty to get stuck into, including:

🪡 Beginner sewing classes
✂️ Dressmaking & pattern cutting
🧶 Knitting & crochet
🧵 Sashiko, darning & visible mending
🏡 Lampshade making & other creative projects

Our workshops are taught by experienced tutors in small, friendly groups, so there’s something for complete beginners and more confident makers alike. We even have sewing machines and tools ready to use!
