Sadly her design was stolen so make sure you only buy from her direct or from her Etsy shop of the same name.

It does make me cross when small, independent makers are targeted in this way 😡

Spent an enjoyable hour or so this morning spearing foliage from the garden into a sweet potato!.

(I think you'd usually use a plain potato - but it's what I had to hand.)

I've seen a few of these on Instagram - sadly didn't make a note of the makers but I gather it's quite a traditional idea

I began by making a hole through the potato with a long screwdriver and then threading it with wire to make a base at the bottom and hook at the top. Then used a wooden skewer to make holes for the foliage. Simple.

Apparently, as well as keeping the foliage fresher for longer, as the potato dries the foliage becomes more secure - we shall see...

My clever son-in-law suggested making one with herbs. Will try that in the summer.
