The light softens, the air cools, and the colours deepen. Autumn is coming, a season of warmth in tone and richness in texture.

Leaves change bright green to ochre, russet and gold; skies turn sharper, nights grow longer. It is a time of reflection, of slowing down, of finding beauty in change.

In art, interiors, and craft, autumn brings inspiration: earth tones, natural textures, and the quiet poetry of transition.

This new little grouping of work for my space has been chosen to reflect the theme of ‘Transformation’. With the Autumn equinox creeping in, we notice the changing light and consider the processes that come with it, both physically and emotionally.

One to remember. Haiku written by me.

Hello you there. It’s me here. You may have noticed a change of direction on this page of late. I’ve taken off the shades and things are looking a little different. Developing new art work, creating new patterns and looking forward to the next part of the journey, wherever that may lead me 💛

This artwork is called ‘Eclipse’. I drew the moth and then repeated the image in different sizes to create a 3D piece. The moth is used symbolically as a way to express personal transformation.

This particular moth is a silk moth, hovering in front of its flaming desire, the blood moon. The moon is the keeper of its secrets and has them written in the shadow in the form of Asemic writing.

It’s currently in the ‘Echoes of Earth’ exhibition at Chichester available for sale there until the end of Sunday 17th August.

There are also two other related images in the series, ‘It’s time to let go’ and ‘Pendulum Moth’. Pictured here in the last frame.
