Too important not to share☺️
Nina has always been part of the Zuri House story. Some of you may remember the little girl who occasionally appeared in my earliest photos, growing up alongside this business from the very beginning.
And somehow, somewhere between family life, school runs, and building Zuri House stitch by stitch, the years simply disappeared. One day she was my little girl excited for her very first day at school, and the next she was a young woman getting ready for her prom night🥹
How does that happen so quickly?😬

Nina, I couldn’t be prouder of the kind, thoughtful, strong and beautiful young woman you have become. May you always have the courage to follow your own path, the confidence to believe in yourself, and the wisdom to know just how capable you are.
May life bring you wonderful adventures, true friendships, opportunities that excite you, and happiness that fills your heart. Never stop being curious, never stop dreaming, and never lose the warmth and kindness that make you who you are.
The world is waiting for you, and I can’t wait to see where it takes you.
Love you always,
Mum❤️xx

A little reminder that every piece in our shop can be made in many beautiful colours - from soft neutrals to bold statement shades.

This weekend I’ll be working with this gorgeous avocado cotton cord during our family movie nights😎🍿

Any guesses what I’m making? 🙂

Wishing you all a lovely weekend! And just out of curiosity - if you run a small handmade business, do you actually switch off at weekends… or are weekends your busiest working days too?😅🙌🏻x

And I think this is exactly the point where so many artists, makers and small handmade businesses quietly started losing joy in social media😬
Because the work itself was already a full-time job long before we also had to become photographers, video editors, entertainers and algorithm chasers on top of it all.

And… I still can’t believe how many of you are still commenting under my previous post and relating to it. I genuinely thought maybe I was just becoming grumpy and overwhelmed with age😂🥲 But apparently many of us are simply tired of how loud and performative everything became.
Anyway… here’s a little pop of Pumpkin colour amongst all my usual neutrals 🍂
Still handmade slowly, row by row, loop by loop☺️
And because so many of you have been incredibly kind and supportive lately, there is also 20% off in our Etsy shop until Sunday🧡

After all your lovely comments under my last post, today feels like a good day to quietly share something beautiful again❤️ (and let’s hope I’ll stick to it this time and won’t disappear again for another few months🤞🏻😅🤞🏻)
These are our petal cushions styled by the talented .styling in their beautiful home in the Netherlands. Elina asked me if I could make a larger version of our flower cushion to use as a soft floor cushion / little pouffe for a child’s bedroom… and I instantly smiled because making a larger version had actually been on my mind for such a long time, ever since I made the very first flower cushion☺️
So our petal cushions are now available in 3 sizes - including a larger floor cushion size🤍
Everything is handmade to order and available in many different colours to suit your interiors, from calm neutrals to more playful shades 🌾
I’m only sharing a few colours here, but there are many more available on our website. I hope you love them as much as I loved making them☺️ Ola x

And I think that’s partly why I’ve been so quiet here for the past few months.
Maybe it’s just me, but Instagram stopped feeling like the lovely little creative community space it once was. Before I even see people I actually follow, I’ve already been offered 156 collagen powders, miracle serums and various exciting ways to apparently become younger, prettier and more worthy as a woman in my 40s😅
And meanwhile I’m just here as a tiny handmade business trying to see beautiful homes, familiar faces, lovely customers and other small businesses I genuinely enjoy following♡
I used to really love this place. It’s actually where this little business began for me. But somewhere in all the ads, reels, algorithms and constant pressure to perform, I think I lost my heart for Instagram a little bit.
The strange thing is - behind the scenes there’s actually so much I’d love to share. New colours, new ideas, new products, beautiful homes, everyday little moments from this handmade world. But lately I’ve genuinely struggled to feel inspired to come back here and start posting again.
Maybe it’s just me feeling this way…, but if this post somehow reached you, I’d genuinely love to know how you feel about Instagram lately too☺️ And if anyone has discovered the magical trick to seeing more real people and fewer ads on here, please share your wisdom😅 Sending love! Ola xx

Ten years ago, this wasn’t a business idea.
It was just cord in my hands and something I loved creating🧶
Somehow, it grew.
And today, we celebrate 10 years of Zuri House 🎉✨ Which feels both surreal and wonderful.

When I look back, I see this was never built by one pair of hands alone.
It was built by people.

My husband - who believed before there was anything to see. Who stood beside every risk, every doubt, every sleepless night. Mentally, physically, financially. The one I could always rely on. This would not exist without you.

And my children - thank you for sharing me with Zuri House. For growing up alongside it. For being patient when I worked late, for understanding when cord took over the living room, and for being my greatest inspiration from the very beginning. Everything started with you.

My talented brother - my photographer and editor, the careful eye behind the scenes for all these years. Thank you for shaping how the world sees Zuri House 📸✨

My friends - the ones who opened their homes in the early days so I could take my very first photographs. And my creative circle - makers of toys, jewellery, clothing, upcycled treasures and beautiful spaces. You inspire me more than you know.

The brand ambassadors and collaborators who created images so beautifully aligned with my vision🤍🌿

My small but extraordinary team - choosing quality over comfort, making sure every stitch carries pride🧶✨

And you.

Every order.
Every message.
Every kind word.
Every time you chose handmade♥️

I’ve tagged as many people as Instagram allowed me, but there are hundreds more who shaped this journey. Please know I remember you and I am deeply grateful!

Ten years later, this little idea is still here.

To celebrate this milestone, we’re offering 30% off until 8 March🎉

Every birthday order will also receive a small gift from us - a quiet thank you for being part of this story🎁

With all my heart - thank you!

Let’s celebrate together🎈

I don’t say this often.

But if you’ve been thinking about ordering something from Zuri House,
wait until Sunday morning.

We’re celebrating 10 years of this handmade journey, and I’ve prepared something special to mark the occasion.

That’s all I’ll say for now🤭
