This is Lancaster Gardens, a kitchen project for one of our clients.

A kitchen designed around the way a space should feel, not just how it should look. Every material chosen with intention, every detail planned before a single piece of timber was cut.

The horizontal grain, the hand-finished brass, the marble that changes in different light and the storage that disappears behind clean lines until you need it.

Bespoke joinery at this level isn’t something you order and wait for. It’s a process, one that’s as considered as the work itself.

We take a limited number of commissions each year.

Every one follows the same four phases, from the first conversation in our Wiltshire showroom to the six-month follow-up after installation.

Storage that’s been properly thought through from the very beginning.

Every detail in this kitchen was designed around real life, the way you cook, the way you move, the way you live in your kitchen every day.

Let’s be honest, why have the surfaces cluttered with a coffee machine, a toaster or a microwave when you can have them neatly tucked away?

This is a dovetail joint, one of the oldest and most respected joints in woodworking. Cut where two pieces of solid timber interlock with precision, it’s as strong as it is beautiful.

At Triptych, every drawer box is made from solid wood with dovetail joinery as standard, not an optional extra, not an upgrade. It’s just the way we build (unless you request otherwise).

It’s a detail most people only notice when someone points it out. But once you’ve seen it, you can’t unsee it.

This is what’s inside every kitchen, every dressing room, every piece of fitted furniture we make.

The details are the design.

The island sets the tone from the start. A curved liquid metal wrap in antique brass, finished by with a flat finish and hand-applied antique patina. No two are the same. It’s the kind of detail that looks better the closer you get.

From there, every element earns its place. Slim-frame cabinetry in stained oak veneer, with a slim shaker beaded detail that adds just enough texture without competing for attention. Storage that’s been thought through properly, so the kitchen works as hard as it looks.

This is what happens when design and craft are given equal weight.

Crown-cut oak wardrobe doors finished in a light bleached stain give this space a more natural feel, while the darker espresso-stained oak internals add depth and contrast. Open shelving keeps everyday essentials easy to reach as the day gets going, and as evening sets in, subtle shelf lighting softens the room and helps it shift into a calmer, more settled space for the night.

The island is where everyone gathers, and the space is used for everything from preparation to time spent together in conversation, with finishes that give it a distinct presence within the room. The Shou Sugi Ban panel is used in two distinct ways, with the island crafted in a gunmetal finish, while the outer cabinets have a metallic brass finish, bringing depth and contrast to the space.
