Creating successful play spaces in commercial environments requires more than simply adding play equipment.

Every element must work hard, enhancing the customer experience, supporting family-friendly destinations and integrating seamlessly with the surrounding architecture.

This project, delivered in collaboration with Play Experiences & Associés and osom group for SHOP PARK Cap Costières, demonstrates how thoughtfully designed play can become a destination in its own right while supporting wider commercial objectives.

We partnered with Bleu & Associés to create this sophisticated play space in the heart of SHOP PARK Cap Costières shopping mall.

Here’s a closer look at some elements you’ll see again and again in our playroom designs, and why we love using them…

1. Sensory lighting: Light Tubes, Infinity Mirrors and Fibre Optics encourage sensory exploration and discovery, whilst creating a soothing and relaxing environment.

2. Activity panels: Encourage exploration that can help regulate sensory processing, improve fine motor skills, and promote calming independent play.

3. Tactile walls: Provide tactile sensory input and encourage children to follow their curiosity with different materials.

4. Interactive Projectors: Offer adjustable environments that can transform passive activities into active experiences, making them highly effective for SEND children.

Swipe for the transformation…

We revolutionised Westbury Junior School’s SEND space into two purposeful rooms: one for relaxation and regulation, one for sensory stimulation and exploration.

Clara’s Corner in West Wycombe is a unique play café, because the ‘cafe’ part is in a separate building. This play space was designed to bring families together, giving adults space to explore alongside their children, while keeping the café as a separate experience.

For this project we needed to make the most of a dual-level space, filling it with play while balancing safety, supervision, flow, and fun for multiple age groups.

We also ensured the brand was incorporated throughout the play space with bespoke wall art, flooring and upholstery.

We were commissioned to design and deliver a magical underwater-themed play space at One Nine Elms in London.

One of the biggest highlights was installing the bespoke submarine and whale structures on the 31st floor — a complex logistical challenge that required careful planning and coordination.

This design balances active play with quieter zones for reading, relaxation and calm moments, all while complementing the luxurious surroundings and making the most of those incredible city skyline views 🌆

From café corners to construction zones, every detail in Little Liverpool play café is designed to inspire young minds in miniature real-world settings.

For the babies, a safely enclosed soft play area features interactive lighting and tactile play pieces.

We made the most of the available space here by adding a second level of play above the village with climbing ramps, obstacles and slides.
