We’ve been open in Chipping Norton for a little while now, and we’re very happy to say we’re loving shop life.⁠
⁠
Our showroom is a place to see The Basket Room properly in person: to get a feel for the scale and texture of our baskets, browse the collections, and discover pieces you might have missed online.⁠
⁠
The space brings together some of our favourite things too, from vintage furniture and reclaimed materials to our handwoven baskets and homewares, with a few details inspired by the landscapes and places where many of our pieces are made.⁠

Chipping Norton, or ‘Chippy’ as the locals call it, has been home to The Basket Room for 7 years! My mother-in-law grew up here and her parents worked at the Bliss Tweed Mill where they manufactured tweed.

Chipping Norton has definitely become a little more famous in recent year, thanks in no small part to a certain local farmer and his TV show. But beyond the Clarkson’s Farm effect, it’s a charming, independent market town with characterful old buildings, good coffee and plenty of places to browse.

My favourites are:uk for homewares, textiles and gifts
for herbal tea, incense, multivitamins and local greetings cards
is my go to for book gifts, quirky cards and Xmas pressies
is a little treasure trove of knitting, great for your own projects or gifting yarn!
for the biggest cinnamon buns and delicious coffee

If you’re staying a little longer, .farmshop are all a short drive out of town. And of course, our showroom is a short walk from the centre!

Behind every bag in our new Sports Luxe collection is a journey shaped by collaboration, craftsmanship and the hands of many talented people.⁠
⁠
Every collection begins with conversations between Holly and our artisan weaving partners in Kenya, where ideas are shared, colours are explored and designs begin to take shape.⁠
⁠
From there, each piece is woven entirely by hand using traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations. Once complete, every bag is finished with leather detailing by our trusted workshop in Nairobi before making its way back to our studio in the Cotswolds.⁠
⁠
It’s a process that can’t be rushed, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.⁠
⁠
When you choose a Basket Room piece, you’re choosing something made with care, supporting skilled artisans and celebrating craftsmanship at every stage.⁠
