A beautiful example of post-war Polish modernism.

These elegant lounge chairs were designed by Henryk Lis, one of the most recognisable names in Polish mid-century furniture design. Their appeal lies in the simplicity: slender timber frames, beautifully angled arms and generous upholstered seats creating a chair that feels both light and exceptionally comfortable.

Designed decades ago, yet they sit remarkably naturally in contemporary interiors — from colourful modern spaces to more understated, architectural settings.

We particularly love how much the character changes with upholstery: muted grey gives them a restrained Scandinavian feel, while mustard yellow brings out their unmistakable 1960s personality.

There’s something incredibly special about old architectural pieces finding a new life.

These large arched iron window frames can become a real statement feature in almost any space. Indoors, they bring instant character to a room — left beautifully aged and original, fitted with glass, or transformed into dramatic oversized mirrors that reflect light and make the space feel considerably larger.

And they don’t have to stay indoors. In a rustic garden, courtyard or orangery, they can look spectacular against an old brick wall, surrounded by climbing plants, or used as architectural features to create the illusion of a window into another space.

We particularly love them simply for what they are — beautifully weathered pieces of architecture, where the imperfections and patina are very much part of their charm.

Indoors or outdoors. Glass or mirror. Restored or left wonderfully aged.

Sometimes the most interesting interiors start with something that was never originally intended to be decoration.

Almost a century apart. The same extraordinary design.

The original photograph takes us back to Tulešice Castle, Czechoslovakia, c.1935 — an interior furnished by Spojené UP Závody, where the distinctive designs of Jindřich Halabala formed part of a remarkable period interior.

Nearly 100 years later, we had the privilege of restoring a matching set of these beautiful Jindřich Halabala armchairs, rebuilding them with respect for their original construction and finishing them in luxurious ivory bouclé.

From a grand Czech interior of the 1930s to a new generation of interiors today.

Some designs simply don't age.

We’re proud to have supplied the mid-century furniture for the beautiful Neil Moodie Studio in London.

The combination of warm exposed brick, herringbone floors and carefully chosen vintage pieces creates exactly the kind of interior we love — characterful, timeless and made to be used.

From statement lounge chairs to the striking blue sofa and occasional pieces, it’s always rewarding to see our furniture leave the warehouse and become part of a beautifully designed commercial space.

Looking to furnish a salon, hotel, restaurant, office, studio or other commercial project? LOFTME can supply individual statement pieces or help source and restore furniture for an entire space.

Vintage furniture. Beautiful interiors. A second life for great design.

A striking example of Danish mid-century design 🇩🇰

This Juul Kristensen three-seater sofa, Denmark, 1960s has been fully restored and newly upholstered in a rich navy blue velvet, creating a beautiful contrast with the sculptural solid wood frame.

The sweeping armrests, elegant proportions and exposed timber construction give this piece real presence from every angle — especially the beautifully detailed rear frame, so it works just as well floating in the centre of a room as it does against a wall.

A proper statement sofa, but still refined, comfortable and incredibly easy to live with.

A complete Danish living room set from the 1960s — and what a set. 🇩🇰

Designed by Juul Kristensen, this beautifully sculpted teak suite includes a three-seater sofa, two-seater sofa and two matching lounge chairs, creating a rare and wonderfully cohesive seating group.

The flowing solid teak frames are the real highlight here — beautifully rounded, sculptural and unmistakably Scandinavian. Fully restored and paired with new navy blue bouclé upholstery, the deep blue works particularly well against the warmth of the teak.

Finding individual vintage pieces is one thing. Finding a complete matching set more than 60 years later is becoming increasingly difficult.

Use it together for a statement living room, or split the pieces across a larger interior while keeping the same design language throughout.

There’s nothing better than seeing our pieces settled into their new homes. 🤎

A lovely photo sent to us by a happy customer, featuring a pair of Jindřich Halabala lounge chairs looking completely at home in this beautiful, character-filled interior.

This is exactly why we love mid-century furniture. Great design doesn’t need a completely “mid-century” room around it — Halabala’s sculptural wooden arms and timeless proportions work effortlessly alongside period architecture, contemporary pieces, art and everyday family life.

Designed decades ago, restored for another generation, and still looking every bit as relevant today.

Thank you to our customer for sharing the photo with us — we absolutely love seeing where our furniture ends up.

Have a LOFTME piece at home? Send us a photo — we’d love to see it.

Not simply chairs — design icons, statement pieces, and increasingly collectible objects.

The legendary Jindřich Halabala H-269, designed in the 1930s, is one of the most recognisable forms of Central European modernism. Those dramatic sweeping bentwood arms make the chair instantly identifiable from across a room.

This pair has been fully restored and upholstered in a rich deep blue velvet, giving the sculptural wooden frames even more presence.

The H-269 is the kind of furniture you buy to live with and enjoy — but also a piece with genuine collector appeal. Good examples are becoming harder to source, restoration costs continue to rise, and the best pairs are increasingly sought after internationally.

So yes, sit in them. Enjoy them. Make them the centrepiece of the room.

But unlike most new luxury furniture, these also have a history, scarcity, and collectability that can make them something worth holding onto.
