Hello! We do still exist! It’s been one busy summer believe us! We are one week away of finishing our 6 week summer contract providing hot lunches to up to 4 locations across Colchester & Clacton. This has taken up the majority of our time as well as the events we were asked to cater for & business lunch and buffet deliveries.

We will open our doors 7.9.2026 with our new menu, little spruce up around the cafe and garden, relief that our children are finally back at school & a feeling of “normality” (does it exist ???) and structure (Nicole & me ? Normal , structure? Who are we kidding) .

It will happen for around a week and after that you will sense it ebbing away from us .

We thank you all! Ciao ciao for now - we will see you in September !

Due to an increase in our outside catering commitments and our school meal provision over the summer we will keeping the cafe closed for now x

Hello Everyone,

Our cafe will be closed from today until August 3rd.
Jill and I are having some Holiday time rest and recuperation.

All outside catering booked in will still be going ahead.

It is our busiest week of the year. This year we are not battling the heat, preparing 150+ individual afternoon teas, throughout the night.

A big thank you to Wallis Gibbs & Craig for the refrigeration unit and Leanne & Jack for getting our air con installed.

You guys are the best!

Here we go!

This year , we are supplying 159 individual afternoon teas for the Royal Hospital School speeches day tomorrow.

Also tomorrow the 40th Birthday BBQ preparation for one of my favourite people I know and call my friend- the one and only Tom Dearsley!

UPDATE - After a loooong wait & an X-ray it is now confirmed that Nicole has a fractured toe ☹️. When you visit us next, things might take a little bit longer ,with my poor Nicole hobbling around the kitchen.

Good morning everybody! Last week, as some of you already noticed, Nicole injured her foot. As it’s not got any better, a little trip to minor injuries is now necessary to get her back on her feet as soon as possible.

As we are closed tomorrow for a catering event, we have decided to be closed today.

We will update you if there are any changes.
