One of the saddest events I remember as a young fella was when 8 men went out from here just before Christmas to help others in trouble & never came back. Lifeboat doesn’t run from here anymore but the station is there with a memorial garden.

Have to say the Wellington Boot is a powerful reminder. Heroes.
