Joining us this Saturday…

Hammer and Quill will be with us showcasing their wonderful products as a pop up stall.

Hammer & Quill are a husband and wife duo, Chris and Emma, who share a passion for creativity and craftsmanship. With backgrounds in design, photography, blacksmithing and writing, and a love for natural materials, they combine the warmth and authenticity of nature with the precision of laser design, cutting and engraving.

They specialise in bespoke designs using naturally sourced and recycled materials such as wood, slate and stone. Their pieces are crafted with care and attention to detail, blending traditional materials with modern technology to create products that are both beautiful, functional and meaningful.

With an eco-aware approach and a focus on creating something truly unique, Hammer & Quill bring natural inspiration to life through thoughtful design and meticulous craftsmanship.

As we get planning our final flower of the year, Harrogate, we wanted to share our news about Southport Flower Show, that we attended recently!

Our team once again did an incredible job of framing our beloved Austin Mini van, that was sitting on a ‘driveway’, with a fantastic display of plants.

The cloud pruned tree, ornate rockery and Japanese scheme got much accolade, as did the English scheme on the left that included an obelisk where people wrote wonderful memories of their own experience/s with an Austin Mini. The wild and colourful Meadow scheme at the front included a large beehive pot, and a cute bench – which was sat on by non-other that Mr Adam Frost of Gardener’s World! Our team were also delighted when they were visited by Joe Swift, of Gardener’s World, too!

This will be the last year we use our Austin in our shows, as we have more big ideas for next year, because Holden Clough will be 100 years old!

Thank you to Southport Flower show for giving us a large gold medal for the display, as well as the trophy for the finest display of trees and shrubs in the show, too. It makes all the hard work that our team put in, worthwhile.

Thanks to every single person that visited us and bought plants or booked garden consultations with John and, as always, none of this would be remotely possible without our amazing team. Truly grateful for their hard work and continuous efforts.

Next stop…Harrogate Flower Show on the 18th-20th September. We hope to see you there, or that you’ll visit the nursery soon to redeem your free plant vouchers from other shows…

We’re still smiling about our time at Chorley Flower Show at the very beginning of this month…

Our display gained a Gold award for summer flowering perennials, as well as ‘Best in Show’, which we are absolutely delighted about. There were many comments about the cloud-pruned juniper, great choice team!

Yet again, none of this could have been possible without the hard work, effort, and dependability of our amazing team. We are so proud of them all. From those on the growing, design & build teams, those arranging the many logistics, those working on the stand and, of course, the team that stayed at the Nursery and kept things running smoothly.

We’d also like to extend our gratitude to Chorley Flower Show, our second year showing now, and we’ll definitely be back.

Lastly, sincere thanks go to every single person who came to see us at the show, who bought plants, booked garden consultations with John, and those who supported from afar…it was so lovely to meet so many of you.

We’ve had our Southport Show meeting today, and the designers are already hard at work…exciting stuff to come! We hope you’ll see you there!

We sell pond plants!

Pond plants are really beneficial to help create and maintain a healthy pond ecosystem.

They absorb excess nutrients, reducing algae growth, and they provide oxygen to aquatic life, offer habitat and shelter for fish, frogs, and other wildlife, and improve water clarity and quality.

Plus…they also make ponds look much nicer and more natural!

Pop in and ask our team where you can find our selection, or if you know The Nursery, they are up the stairs in the area between the Frameyard and The Potting Shed.
