Today’s ticket release was an absolute headache. We had over 11,000 people trying to get tickets, three crashes, and every ticket was gone in just over three minutes.
I completely understand that people are disappointed. But since the release, we’ve faced nonstop messages and some outright abuse. It’s been exhausting and, honestly, deeply dissapointing.
Let me make one thing clear: making this a ticketed event and limiting attendance are conditions of the licence. They are not restrictions I’ve chosen to put on the community. Why would I want to stop people coming to something I’ve worked so hard to put on?
My stomach sinks at the thought of a child missing out. I’m doing everything I can to recover tickets that people no longer need, and I’ll reissue those to families wherever I can. I can’t promise everyone a place, but please know I am trying.
If you have spare tickets, please let us know. Even one returned ticket could make a difference to another family.
I also need to set a boundary. Being disappointed is understandable. Being abusive towards me phoning and entering my shop when it clearly states there is none left is not on!. Anyone who has directed abuse at us will not be offered additional guest places.
I do this for the community. I don’t make a penny from it, it costs an absolute fortune to put on.There are months of work, countless hours and a huge amount of personal commitment behind this night.
I’m genuinely disappointed by the negativity today. We’re trying to give local families something to enjoy and be proud of, and it’s hard when that effort is met with abuse.
To everyone who has been patient, sent a kind message, donated or offered to return a spare ticket thank you. That support means more than you know.
Please remember there are real people behind this, doing their best for the community.
