Calico Interiors Interior Design Studio and Soft Furnishing Specialist As the fan-base grew, so did Calico Interiors.

It all began in 1981, when our founder, Pauline Nash, started a curtain and soft furnishing business from the comfort of her very own home. The business quickly garnered a reputation for creating beautifully crafted, bespoke soft furnishings and attracted an ever-growing queue of clients. Today, Calico Interiors works on both home and commercial projects all across the UK and resides at the rather

glorious Lambsquay House, a former hotel in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire - and Pauline has a little more help these days. With our own team of talented makers and upholsterers, soft furnishings are still at the core of our business, but we’ve come a long way since those early years. From furniture to flooring, and even that vase for the shelf, we have everything you need to create your perfect space. Whether it’s just a simple pair of curtains, a new sofa, or a much larger scale project - our Showroom and Design Studio is run by an experienced team of designers, who are there to help you create the interiors you dream of.

This is exactly the kind of journey we love to be part of: watching someone grow from a Saturday job into a full time career with us ✨ Katie first joined Calico on Saturdays while she was studying for her A-levels, and now she’s grown into a Trainee Interior Designer + sales assistant. We couldn’t be more proud of how far she’s come.

These days Katie is learning SketchUp, sitting in on client meetings, going out on measuring appointments and fittings, and getting stuck into the real world of interior design from the inside out! ✨

Cubberley House is the kind of country home that feels made for autumn, a boot room that tells the whole story of the season before you've even stepped through the door. Tweed caps, walking sticks and wellingtons, all with a place of their own.⁠

Our contribution was the soft furnishings throughout, tartan bench cushions, a beautifully draped check curtain, and a Roman blind finished with tassel fringing. Every detail chosen to feel completely at home in a space this full of character.

One of our favourite parts of what we do is seeing a project come to life right from the very beginning. ✨⁠

This annex was still being built when we first met the client, which meant we were able to work together to shape the space from the ground up.⁠
⁠
He came to us with two colours he loved (teal and mustard), a vision for a home bar area, and some existing artwork he wanted to incorporate. From there we worked together to bring it all to life: bespoke chairs made to order, sofas, a mirror, stands and accessories carefully sourced, and a table and finishes chosen to complement his art beautifully.⁠
⁠
It's a space that feels personal because it was designed to be, built around the client's ideas at every single stage. 🤍
