and testing afternoon. Fascinating to see the face angle stay square to the path (irrespective of the angle set by the Arc Master)

Posture, height, point of rotation, distance from the ball, eye position, grip style all influence the putter’s arc / path… not to mention overall weight & swing weight 😀 Reducing the putter face to path manipulation is key to improving the players start line consistency.

Lower compression golf balls (45-64) consistently produce higher impact ratios (Smash Factor) 1.67-1.68.

As the ball compression increases 77-110 the impact ratio progressively decreases (1.63-1.57) suggesting diminished energy return during putter ball impact using a plain face putter.

All data capture using Quintic’s putting robot and using the latest software (1080fps).

Compression plays its part on the putting green, as well as in the full swing… Would be interesting to hear if people are aware about this?
