During the winter of 2018/19 Stovefitter's went in search of a modern, large screen, Ecodesign wood burning stove that we could retail between £599 and £799. We tested numerous models and it was the Firewire range that you now see that came out on top.

Manager Arran who runs the showroom and warehouse has a Firewire FW5 with upgraded cast-iron door* and says it 'it as close to the Ivar 5 as you are going to get but at under half the price'.

* This stove is on exceptional offer at the moment. The reason being that we purchased a large amount to obtain the possible price. A saving we pass to the end customer..

The Firewire is a wood-only stove with a large viewing window and simple yet effective single control that keeps the glass cleaner than any stove we sell - including models costing many hundreds of pounds more.

Please note that the small retainer that prevents ash falling from the stove no longer has the slots shown in our images. The small bar was re-designed to prevent fine ash seeping through the slots.

The Burnished door gives a stove a unique appearance, something not available on other brands.

These are all done by hand – the door is polished down with varying grades of abrasive wheel, then clear lacquered to protect the surface. It’s a labour-intensive process and typically adds a couple of extra days to the dispatch time. Here are some examples:

Totally in love with this little stove. I bought the stove in advance and online, I had a couple of questions, both were answered quickly and fully. I also needed the stove to be delivered the day before the fitting. The service all round was great the Delivery was on time and the stove was extremely well packaged. After fitting, I followed the instructions given and found the stove was very easy to light and control the rate of burning. Delivers great heat! I am very happy with this purchase and the service I received!
