To my lovely followers. Due to etsy freezing my shop and making it almost impossible to unfreeze (for no reason at all), I have decided to close 'the Macrame Magpie', and I have been busy rebranding to include lots more arts and crafts as I create much more than macrame.

Today's painting. This one was a little tough, capturing a hares eye is tricky! This is 'Clippy' a war torn hare, with a torn ear and a story to tell.

Great information shared by Secret World Wildlife Rescue on grounded swifts 🐦

📢Swift information post 📢

Adult breeding Swifts migrate to the UK during May, with a second wave of last year's juvenile, non breeding Swifts in June.

There are many reasons why a swift may become grounded, for example:
🐾 migration related exhaustion
🐾 weather related exhaustion
🐾 collisions
🐾 intra species disputes
🐾 young coming out of nests

It is a myth that a swift cannot take off from the ground. A healthy swift can take off from the ground. If a swift is grounded, it is likely that it is at a minimum dehydrated, among other possibilities.
