Home for the next 2 days! I'm all set up at the Quilt Fayre in Derry-Londonderry and eager for you to see my stand in person!

I spent yesterday evening knitting and crocheting sample swatches for the yarn I just received delivery of this week although they won't be dry until Saturday! This is the VERY FIRST yarn I've stocked and it's a beauty - soft, drapey and cooling for your summer wardrobe. It's Stylecraft Naturals Bamboo + Cotton DK in 21 stunning shades. Have you guys used this yarn before? What are your thoughts on it?

If you're as nosy as me you'll love having a sneaky peek in other peoples' shopping baskets 👀 Here's what you loved at the Quilt Fayre last year and can expect to see again.

Today Graham and I are busy bees setting up ahead of the show opening in Derry tomorrow and Saturday! I'm also giving a free talk on Saturday about stitching for wellbeing so secure your place for that online when you book your ticket. I'm told everyone who attends the talk will receive a gift - how lovely! 🛍

Going to a craft show where you've got all the latest must-have products lined up in front of you can leave a larger hole in your purse than intended if you're not careful. There are so many temptations!

To avoid spending too much money on things I won't ever use I always stick to these 3 simple steps to build healthy spending habits while still having fun.

I know this is something everyone will be conscious of at the Quilt Fayre in Derry this year but on the other end of the scale, we could all do with a serotonin boost. It's all about balance!

What are your tips to avoid accidentally going way over budget at these events?

It's a really lovely, friendly and relaxed show with time and space to have a good look around you. And it's not just for quilters. Yes - there'll be a great range of fabric and quilty goodies, but there'll also be yarn, cross stitch, haberdashery, I could go on.
