Welcome to my new series where I show you all the lovely things I'm bringing to Knit + Stitch Northern Ireland at the Eikon Centre 12-15th November 🪡🧶Don't despair if you can't make it - everything is available to shop on my website too 💻

First up is this absolutely charming fabric collection called Lucky Duck 🐥 and what a sweetie this duckling is. He is making friends all over the pond in the storybook panel which would make a gorgeous playmat. You can see him in his little raincoat - he's not letting a little damp weather put him off.

This collection is perfect for baby and nursery makes and with it having such a fabulous set of coordinating colours, blenders and stand out prints, it'll work for any gender. I'll also have a baby quilt kit at the show - it's on my machine now so keep an eye out for that.

LEVEL UP YOUR CROCHET SKILLS with our amigurumi Class THIS Saturday 16th October 📅 I've got a few spaces left to learn the techniques behind this very cute Japanese technique. ALL MATERIALS PROVIDED

What is Amigurumi? 🧶🧸 It's a style of making cute stuffed dolls and toys using crochet. It's beginner-level friendly but you'll need to have some basic crochet knowledge already for the class.

NEXT WEEK we also have a fun cross stitch class. Cross stitch is a very easy, mindful craft and is what I'd recommend for anyone who's carrying a lot of stress and wants to switch their brain off 😌

Home for the next 2 days! I'm all set up at the Quilt Fayre in Derry-Londonderry and eager for you to see my stand in person!

I spent yesterday evening knitting and crocheting sample swatches for the yarn I just received delivery of this week although they won't be dry until Saturday! This is the VERY FIRST yarn I've stocked and it's a beauty - soft, drapey and cooling for your summer wardrobe. It's Stylecraft Naturals Bamboo + Cotton DK in 21 stunning shades. Have you guys used this yarn before? What are your thoughts on it?

If you're as nosy as me you'll love having a sneaky peek in other peoples' shopping baskets 👀 Here's what you loved at the Quilt Fayre last year and can expect to see again.

Today Graham and I are busy bees setting up ahead of the show opening in Derry tomorrow and Saturday! I'm also giving a free talk on Saturday about stitching for wellbeing so secure your place for that online when you book your ticket. I'm told everyone who attends the talk will receive a gift - how lovely! 🛍

Going to a craft show where you've got all the latest must-have products lined up in front of you can leave a larger hole in your purse than intended if you're not careful. There are so many temptations!

To avoid spending too much money on things I won't ever use I always stick to these 3 simple steps to build healthy spending habits while still having fun.

I know this is something everyone will be conscious of at the Quilt Fayre in Derry this year but on the other end of the scale, we could all do with a serotonin boost. It's all about balance!

What are your tips to avoid accidentally going way over budget at these events?
