Decompressing before tackling the bathroom snags for another Airbnb season. 5 weeks before our first guests arrive. 😵‍💫

Rio -

“I don’t really care what you’re doing…

…but I would like to watch.

Continuously.

From the best possible vantage point.

For quality control purposes.”

He doesn’t answer emails.
He doesn’t makes calls
He doesn’t contribute financially.

But he does conduct important neighbourhood surveillance from the passenger seat. Always.

Rio in every situation:

Rio did his part in making sure I can’t fly off again anytime soon and with that, the reality of our summer season has well and truly arrived!

The next six weeks look very different around here.

We’re getting the house ready for Airbnb guests again, juggling reluctant teenagers along with a nine-month-old puppy who seems determined to oversee everything. I’m also planning a few exciting changes of our own in the background.

There are bathroom renovation plans brewing for September, room updates happening behind the scenes, and I’ll be sharing some before, during and after photos of Sydney’s bedroom as it comes together.

I alway find transitions harder than the thing itself. Moving between seasons, projects, routines and versions of ourselves can feel messy while we’re in the middle of them…

…the unpacking, the planning, the sorting, the making room for what’s next.

So stay tuned! I’ll be sharing this season with you ❤️

This one came from a Free Friday question inside the (newly named) Homeful Facebook group – I love seeing the makeovers unfold!! 🌈

Tuesday Tip-off from the Facebook Group.

“Don’t underestimate the impact of flooring in a scheme. It has a big say in the overall feel of a design”.

If you’re renovating and needed to hear this today, join us in Homeful for more tips each week. ❤️

A little clip from one of the Free Advice Friday sessions inside Homeful by Beaten Green Living.

Every week, we talk through real homes, real layouts, colour choices, room flow and the small shifts that can completely change how a space feels.

Sometimes it’s about paint, sometimes it’s about furniture layout, Sometimes it’s just understanding why a room has never quite felt right.

Free Friday has become one of my favourite parts of the week ❤️

Feel free to join us this week - Homeful

Some homes don’t need more pieces - they just need more togetherness.

Folk archetypes are drawn to things with meaning; pieces found slowly and objects that carry a story.

Over time, a home like this fills with character, but it can also starts to feel cluttered, confusing or just unsettled. Like everything matters, but nothing quite fits together?

I work with clients to bring clarity to what’s already there, grouping pieces so they support each other and giving key items space to land.

I bring calm through coherence without losing the richness, maintaining that uniquely personal vibe, in rooms that feel easier to live in.

I call this Folk expression “Gathered Home” and here’s how I’d design it:
