A little something different from me 🌿

As most of my makes are geared towards colder weather, I usually spend the off-season building up stock, getting stuck into the garden, and enjoying a bit of creative freedom. One of my favourite ways to use that time is making pieces to support the incredible Bosnian dog shelter we adopted our dogs from 🐾 Hope VMS Elaine's Dogs.

They rely entirely on donations, so fundraising for them is something I truly care about.

This cardigan—lovingly nicknamed “The Bridgerton” (as I watched the entire boxset while crocheting it!)—is now up for auction in the Friends of Hope VMS Elaine’s Dogs Facebook group.

Current bid is very low so if you fancy grabbing a bargain and supporting an amazing cause, head over and place your bid 💛

Has it really been seven weeks since I last posted? It has been a quieter season here after the mid winter rush, but the needles and dye pots have definitely not been resting.

I have been busy “hiberknitting” - rebuilding sock stock in all sizes and playing with new dye techniques.

I am so pleased to share this latest romantic shade, Vintage Cranberry - a rich, rosy berry tone with beautiful depth and variation.

The socks have already been snapped up, but there is still:
• 1 skein - 75% merino / 25% nylon
• 1 skein - 75% Bluefaced Leicester / 25% nylon

Both are wonderfully soft with added strength for perfect, long lasting socks.

Still working through post craft season stock updates and today I’ve listed all my remaining Dragonscale wristwarmers.

That’s it on these until the Autumn, so if you fancy getting your dragon on, now’s the time.

The website doors are open again! 🎉

After my most successful year ever, I’ve given PenelopeKnitstop.co.uk a bit of a tidy-up—stock checked, spruced up, and made easier to wander around.

With the cold snap creeping in, if you suddenly realise your winter woollies are… lacking, now’s the time to fix that. Woolly socks really earn their keep this season—and once you try them, you’ll understand exactly what all the fuss is about.

Great event at West Bridgford Lights Switch on yesterday, so back to it today replenishing stock before my final event at The Garage Chilwell on 14th December.

This little lot should keep me quiet this evening grafting the seamless toes and sewing in ends. 1 x size 4 and 2 x size 14s in this batch. I like a day of extremes 🤣

After two outrageously successful events at The Garage in Chilwell recently, I’m now a little nervous that I’ve filled that gap in my schedule with the West Bridgford Christmas Lights Market this Saturday! 😅
Note to self: knit more in the summer…

I’ve got a lovely little pile drying, ready for labelling and packing, and I’m working furiously to get a few more pairs of everything finished in time. 🧶✨

There’s absolutely no hope of getting these items onto the website before mid-December, I'll be too busy knitting — so if you’d like a browse, you’ll just have to pop along to Lutterell Hall on Saturday and explore my makes (along with lots of incredibly talented local stallholders!). 🎄💛

DISASTER!

The big 3-day event at Notcutts is cancelled 😿

That's a massive hole in my schedule.

Still, more time for knitting and i guess more time to photograph and list things on my website, and there's always local collection options in and around Cotgrave to save on postage.
