"Gothic Arches" is one of the larger size boxes I have made. Originally, this was going to be just a pattern of circles and rings, but then I found the stars on an old hair slide and they just fitted across the larger circle from a pendant. The whole box was painted in deep violet acrylic paint, and then I slowly lightened areas, picking out the edges of beads. The lace around the base came from an assortment of old crocheted pieces from my mother-in-law, some of which had come from her mother-in-law! I used silver ink to highlight the pattern, and added a touch of silver wax on the lid.

The whole box is lined with black velvet.

A few close up shots to show the detail in my pieces.
All my boxes are crafted using (and not limited to) repurposed materials, elements from broken jewellery, interesting curios and trinkets I have found, specialist artists media and velvet.
Making a beautiful attractive item from something that would otherwise find itself in landfill.
