Such a fantastic weekend at this year!

It was a joy and honour to work with to help her vision of making a Scone Palace shaped plant support and living willow arch come to life. 🌿🏰🌸 Congratulations to Clara and the team for putting in such hard work and earning a silver medal for it!

More projects like this please πŸ™

Hello lovely people πŸ‘‹πŸ’š

Here's a gentle reminder about the Great Scottish Basket Cases festival at Port of Menteith, Stirlingshire on the 16th and 17th of May. I would love to see some of you there to take a deep dive into some very relaxing and skills based projects!

Not only will you get to learn with me, but there are courses being run by super amazing Basketmakers from all over Scotland, and there will be a chance to attend a discussion with all of us on Saturday evening where you can ask us ALL the nerdy questions πŸ€“ and hang out with people who inspire you at a lovely, intimate event. 🌿

The link to book is in my bio - you'll have to first purchase your ticket to attend the festival before you can book onto the workshops. Don't be afraid to get in touch if you have any troubles or questions! πŸ’š

See you there!

Stripping bark to make white willow with a lovely mix of tranquility and goofy goober chaos editing that speaks of what my life is really like.

One of my kids thought it was hilarious and the other told me to DEFINITELY NOT post it for fear of my reputation 🀣🀣 well he's not on social media and won't be for a very long time.

Farts get follows amirite? πŸ’¨βœŒοΈ (Griff deserved it cause how dare he laze about in the sun when I'm working β˜€οΈ 🐱)

Leather work by Keith Hastie of Daein' Leather in Dunfermline, who's done an ace job! (He's not on IG but he is on FB if you want to check out his other work). It's really lovely to collaborate with other local artisans πŸ™‚πŸ’š thanks Keith!

Alright troops, I'll be teaching at the Great Scottish Basket Cases event on the 16th and 17th of May! It'll be a grand weekend of massive basket enthusiasts nerding out big style. πŸ€“ (Even if nobody books on my courses, I'll be in my happy place πŸ˜‰)

There's all kinds of course variety going on, from a couple of hours to all weekend, and a fabulous selection of tutors that I'm honoured to be part of.

🌸🏡️ On Saturday, I'll be teaching flowers as a full day course, meaning it's really a deep dive into all things round bases. The different ways we can start, continue, and finesse them, while leaving with tangible items at the end instead of an unfinished basket. It should be super chill if you want it to be, or you could be ultra focussed and make a bouquet! It's going to be as student led as can be 🏡️🌸

🍾 On Sunday I'll be teaching bottle carriers, again all day, so this can be a deep dive into as many or as little weaves, borders and patterns you're up for, and if your fingers are quick, you could leave with two🍾

Both are suitable for all levels of ability and from ages 12+

⭐A wee note ⭐- teaching group classes are going to be extremely limited from me this year. My weekends are too precious and my kids are growing up too fast, so I'm slowing down a bit on the things I find most intense. I still have plenty of space for 1-1s and 2s at my home workshop, so if you want to learn from me, grab the Green Aspirations tickets while you can or get in touch for 1-1 πŸ™‚ xx

Part mountain-wanderer, part river-follower, Mick Bleatwood is the soul of the glen. Brought to life with white willow from the soggy fields of and adorned with a mane of felted fleece from Shetland sheep, he’s a character born from the hills and the bogs of North and South.

He doesn't follow the flock, he follows the good vibes. Stay shaggy, stay grounded, and always go your own way (preferably to the hills ⛰️). ✌️

(Took me way too long to write this cheesy pish, and I took the mask all the way up to the Highlands for this picture, so you'd better appreciate it πŸ˜…πŸ‘)

Morven Basket Cases 2026 done βœ…βœ…

My most favourite of all the groups to teach, the OGs, the ones who had faith in me from the start, the ones who keep gently pushing me for more and in doing so, enhance my own progress as a teacher. I'm so grateful to have them.

A fitched log, an asymmetric, a square, a big mushroom gatherer, an ergonomic seaweed gatherer, a big log, a "granny" basket for an expectant Gran, and the mother of said soon-to-be baby making a backpack inspired by her growing belly. You all did AMAZING, and I was honoured to be part of the process.

Delicious food, excellent bants and surrounded by the rugged beauty of my childhood home, not to mention my sweet and lovely pal Aurore coming along as co-tutor again to lift, support, and bring her own expertise and wisdom to the fore.

My energy may be empty but my heart is full πŸ’šπŸ’š

Not pictured is Lilia and her fab log basket - her speedy fingers were done quicker than most so she was dismissed before the group pic, but her company was equally appreciated πŸ’š
