Hello, I’m Elaine, founder of Ditsy Floral Design a floristry business in Northern Ireland and I am obsessed with flowers and weddings. I am a wife, a mum, an avid reader and also a Visitor Experience Officer for the National Trust.
So, this year I changed it up a little as you know…the shop is no longer open daily and I have a new job working with the National Trust at The Argory which I am absolutely LOVING!! It’s an exciting, busy time and this change will allow for a better work – life balance (once I get through crazy season). The business has been all consuming and I’m finding it refreshing to focus on other things. Weddings are still a priority, but I’ll be carefully choosing dates and clients that match my availability and aspirations for the business. My style is romantic, feminine, pretty florals that have a timeless cottage garden look. I’m not one for the fads I’m seeing all over socials atm 🙈
Fresh flowers can still be ordered for delivery, but please order online as I cannot take a phone call whilst working elsewhere and I will pick up your order on my return and get it ready for delivery either the next day or on your selected delivery date.
Christmas is looking like bespoke wreath making experiences at The Argory that will include a house tour and authentic Big House Christmas traditions. Watch this space for more information!! I’m very excited!
This exciting chapter is allowing me to earn an income but still focus on:
🌸 Weddings – I plan to take approx. 20-30 weddings each year, carefully selected, aligned clients 💕
🌸 Workshops – seasonal, creative, small groups of like-minded people. Christmas workshops are pending.
🌸 Fresh Flower Bouquets & Gift Flowers – bespoke and thoughtfully created floral bouquets and displays for special days – birthdays, anniversaries. Please check my website for availability.
🌸 A focus on events and special occasions such as Valentine, Mother’s Day and Christmas.
When my lease expires at the end of 2026, I will not be renewing it, so I will be moving the business back home to Loughbrickland. The overheads of running the building in Scarva have drained me financially and nearly broken me. It’s nearly impossible for a small business to survive in today’s trading climate.
