This is why I don’t photo doors on the Camino!

There’s just too many and I love them all…the texture, colour, detail, craftsmanship and history.

This collection was just from one street in one small rural village we walked through. Photographing every one I love wouldn’t give us any time to reach our destination!

I’m happy with this small selection as a reminder 👍

We’re walking the Camino!

The Camino Frances to be precise. All 500 miles of it, from St Jean Pied de Port in the French Pyrenees all the way to Santiago de Compostela in north-west Spain.

Six weeks. Backpacks. Blisters. And if we’re lucky, a fair amount of very good wine 🍷

We only have the first two nights of accommodation booked. After that, we are taking it one day at a time….

I’m stripping my phone right back too. Deleting everything I don’t need, taking a journal and a book, and stepping well away from social media for the duration. If you want to follow our progress, and I really hope you do, Steve will be documenting the whole adventure on his page and I’m sure it will be well worth following.

I am honestly so looking forward to the pared-back purity of it all. Creating space and lightness, literally, because everything we need for six weeks fits into a backpack weighing around seven kilograms! When you actually sit down and think about what you truly need in life, it’s quite a revelation.

Before I go, I want to say a genuine and heartfelt THANK YOU.

This year, the showroom has gone from strength to strength, and I have been so happy watching it develop into something I’m really proud of.

That wouldn’t have happened without your support, your visits, your messages, and your enthusiasm for what I’m trying to build here in Argyll.

It means more than I can say 💖

You had better believe that I’m already excited about what comes next when I get back too!

There will be plenty of upholstery work to catch up on and lots of new finds to share, so the sign will be out regularly from mid-June onwards.

My first official open weekends back are:

Thursday 25th June to Sunday 29th June
Thursday 9th July to Sunday 13th July
Thursday 23rd July to Sunday 27th July

I’ll be refreshed, rested, and full of stories. I hope you’ll come and find me.

So, please wish us both luck, and we’ll see you on the other side!

I usually do a wee talkie bit to show you what’s in the showroom for an open weekend but tbh it’s been a full on week picking up stock and getting it showroom ready and I’m knackered…

So I’m letting the images do the talking for this one 😀

Forecast looks to be improving so if you’re out and about this weekend I would love to welcome you to my little treasure trove on the stunning Crinan Canal.

Amongst the beautiful scenery here there are fantastic places to walk and get great food

Open Weekend this coming weekend and I’ll be packed with new stock.

Friday April 17th - Monday 20th

Easter Weeknd was hectic and pretty much wiped me out of stock but I have been traveling around Argyll, rummaging in sheds, second-hand shops and visiting people with items to sell.

I have gathered another truly eclectic mix of treasures, so over the next few days I will be busy cleaning, waxing and re-arranging to give the showroom a complete revamp.

Doors Open from 10am Easter Friday 💥

It’s been a manic week of late nights and early mornings getting upholstery jobs finished in time for Easter.

A set of rustic window seat cushions for a new holiday let cottage 👍

A revamped sofa from an old futon mattress and reclaimed sofa frame made on site at the aptly named Cliffhanger Lodge 👍

A reupholstered armchair for a special client (my Mum!) 👍

And then a set of fully reupholstered dining chairs for an exciting new Italian restaurant in Tarbert 👍

Not gonna lie I’m pretty knackered and the showroom isn’t ready yet!

But I had the incredible with me today sorting the place out and now I can see the vision, whereas this morning it looked impossible.

I’m going to get an early night and an early start and will be ready to welcome you over the weekend.

Wherever you are I hope you have a weekend filled with good company, a few laughs, some lovely food and a cosy place to nestle while Storm Dave passes through! Keep your fingers crossed for my essential gazebo🤞
