MAURA CASEMENT

Maura’s family would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who supported us during the sad loss of our loving wife, mother and grandmother.

To everyone who sent mass and sympathy cards and messages , paid their respects at the family home or attended Maura’s Requiem Mass , we are eternally grateful, this has been a great comfort to us all.

To Father Derek Kearney for the beautiful and heartfelt Requiem Mass and his words of comfort during this very difficult time. We extend our thanks to Terry Andrews for prayers at Maura’s home. We are very grateful for your prayers and pastoral support .

The beautiful Requiem Mass was made more special by the wonderful singing and music by Finbar Keaveney.

We also wish to thank the doctors and staff in Crossgar Surgery, District Nursing Team, Palliative Care Team, Marie Curie, Lydian carers and The Doctors and Staff in The Downe and Ulster Hospitals for their care and support to Maura in recent times , we truly appreciate your compassion and kindness.

Thanks to Teconnaught GAC for the use of their facilities and Frenchs for providing the refreshments following Maura’s Requiem Mass.

We are very grateful to all those who made a donation to Marie Curie, in Maura’s memory.

The family thank Charles Rourke & Sons Funeral Directors for their care, compassion and professionalism during this difficult time.

It’s impossible to thank everyone individually. However, we hope this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude at this time.

Maura’s Month’s Mind Mass will be held on Sunday 18th January at 10:30am in Church of The Immaculate Conception & St. Joseph, Crossgar.

CASEMENT, 16th December 2025, MAURA (nee Morgan), peacefully at home, 38 Downpatrick Road Crossgar, dearly beloved wife of Jimmy, much loved mother of Shaunagh, Gareth, Paul and Blagheen, mother in law of Mary, Jaclyn, Chris and the late Michael, loving granny of Jessica, Rebecca, Austin, Luca, Leo and the late Connor. May she Rest In Peace.

Funeral from her late home on Sunday 21st December at 12.30pm to Church of the Immaculate Conception and St Joseph, Crossgar for Requiem Mass at 1.00pm.

A private cremation will take place at a later date.

Maura will be reposing at her late home on Friday 19th December and Saturday 20th December between 4.00pm and 9.00pm.

No flowers please, donations may be made in lieu if desired to Marie Curie c/o Charles Rourke and Sons Funeral Directors, 51 Church Street Downpatrick BT30 6EH.

St Anthony intercede for her. Very deeply regretted and will be lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family and friends.

2️⃣ Follow the clues to find all the spooky scarecrows hidden throughout the village.
3️⃣ Bring your completed sheet to Crossgar Park on Friday 31st October during our Halloween Night to claim your spooky prize! 🎁

It’s a fun, family-friendly way to explore the village and spot all the amazing local shop displays while you’re at it!
