If you’re looking to build a life with more freedom—to decide what you do, when you do it, without being governed by some t**t with a clipboard—learning a practical, profitable skill can change everything 😉

If upholstery and soft furnishings interest you, this is one of those skills you need to master. ✂️🪡

I’ve just added a brand-new lesson to The Facelift Academy showing you how to build, template, cut, sew and upholster a shaped scroll arm from scratch.

It’s an incredibly valuable lesson for:

• Building and shaping traditional arms 💪
• Accurate templating and pattern making 📌
• Cutting and sewing for a professional fit ✂️
• Completing the upholstery from frame to finish 🪑

If you’re already an Academy member, it’s yours now—head to the bottom of the Intermediate section.

If you’re not a member but want to learn the skills to build your own profitable upholstery or soft-furnishings business, comment ACADEMY and we’ll send you the link.

See you on the inside. ✂️📌🪡⛏️📎♻️🪑

Does this look familiar? 👀😂

Customer: “How much will that be?”

You: pretending to know exactly what you’re doing while your brain is having a full-blown panic attack trying to calculate fabric, foam, labour, overheads… and whether they’re going to think it’s too expensive 🤯

Don’t worry… you’re definitely not the only one.

Most people I speak to are incredible at what they do…

But pricing? That’s where everyone starts guessing.

And guessing usually means one thing…

You’re probably leaving money on the table 💸

That’s why I’m running a FREE live training:

“The Hidden Cost of Undercharging — How to Stop Guessing and Start Charging Properly”

📅 Thursday 9th July
⏰ 7pm BST

I’ll show you how to price with confidence instead of pulling numbers out of thin air 😂

Comment PRICE below and I’ll send you the link 👇

See you Thursday 🙌

Grab a pen, maybe a glass of Chardonnay 🍷, and I'll see you next Thursday!

Did I mention that its free?! All I want is your attention! 😁

I met Polly a few weeks back.
An incredible woman who has given the last 30 years of her life in service to others. Congratulations Polly! 🙌
New hope are a charity to us who help people experiencing homelessness in and around Watford.
It was always part or my vision when I launched The Facelift Academy to be able to support and donate to causes I truly believe in and New Hope is truly a great cause that we will continue to work with and support as much as we can! 🙏🌍❤️

Congratulations to Polly Odbert BEM! Polly, our much-loved volunteer manager of our Queens' Road shop, has been awarded a British Empire Medal in the King's Birthday Honours!

This is an award for sustained commitment in support of very local charitable and voluntary activity. And Polly is full of commitment and dedication to New Hope!

She has been volunteering at the shop for over three decades, serving as the manager (unpaid!) for the past 20 years - a familiar and reassuring presence to generations of customers, volunteers, and people supported by New Hope.

Matthew Heasman, Chief Executive, said: “Polly’s contribution to New Hope and the wider community is truly remarkable. For over 30 years she has given her time, energy and compassion to support others. This honour is richly deserved, and we are incredibly proud of her.”

Dr Tim Robson OBE, trustee and founder of New Hope, said: “Over the years Polly has been consistently energetic and inspirational in leading and managing all aspects of the shop and her team of fellow volunteers. She never gives up and is persistent in working beyond the call of duty, looking out for others.

“She radiates energy and compassion and is always looking for practical opportunities to support customers, whatever their needs.”

Well done, Polly Odbert BEM!

What I teach my students is simple:
Pattern matching is non-negotiable.
The ONLY time you should ever accept poor pattern matching is if the client has genuinely run out of fabric and there’s no way of getting any more.
Other than that?
There’s no excuse.
Borders should flow.
Faces should line up.
Cushions should relate to one another properly.
That attention to detail is what separates an average upholstery job from a true bespoke piece.
And THIS is what many upholsterers miss when trying to charge premium prices.
You’re not just selling “recovering furniture.”
You’re selling craftsmanship.
You’re selling individuality.
You’re selling something completely unique to that client.
This sofa is one of one.
There will never be another exactly like it in the world.
Two fabrics from two different suppliers, carefully combined to create something completely bespoke.
THAT is where the real value is.
That’s how you move from £700 chair jobs into £4k, £5k+ projects.
This is the kind of thing I’ll be teaching inside our upcoming elite-level coaching.
Keep your eyes peeled 👀
