Supply, Installation, servicing and maintenance of wood burning stoves and chimney systems My name is Grant Lumsden.

I've been working as a stove installer for last 9 years for one of the leading suppliers and installers around. As part of my job, i've installed hundreds of stoves over those years and specialised in fully bespoke work using a range of different stoves, materials and finishes. I can offer the supply and installation of the wood burning stove, chimney and all fireplace hearths and materials. I offer a fully bespoke service to give you the fireplace or feature that you're looking for and an all-trade finish to the works, with only finished decor needing done at the end of the installation. As well as supplying, fitting and servicing wood burners, i also carry out maintenance works such as small roof repairs, guttering, fencing, plastering and many other home maintenance needs.

Morning, I hope everyone survived the winds at the weekend and your stoves are keeping you cozy.

There is a phone Mast in Cupar area thats been offline most of last week and still is. I am getting Zero phone signal in most of the area but will still get email and whatsapp when I'm at home.

If anyone is needing to contact me, please don't call, even if I see the call, I often can't answer it and can't return it. Whatsapp calls work or email.

So... wee update on the 'OMG why do i do this to myself' job.

After 4 long days at it for myself, which also included pulling my long since retired old man in as an extra pair of hands, its finally ready for plastering.

The muddled mess of old pipework was all still live so I had to get that re-routed and cut out, and another full trailer of rubble and rotten timber and flooring away too.

Old fireplace is all blocked up now but Ive still used the chimney, a good portion of the chipboard floor in front of the old fireplace has all been replaced after I fell through it on Wednesday.

Walls all framed, insulated and boarded

New false chimney breast has been built into the room in front of the old fireplace, all set for a TV above the stove when its all plastered and got the beam fitted.

Nearly there!

You know when you schedule a job and give a bit of slack in the diary just in case there's a bit more to it... a bit of wiggle room. Just in case?

Well... Monday just slapped me across the face like a ton of bricks! Or approximately 3.5 tons of brick and stone so far and not even finished the breakout yet!

Need to reframe, insulate and board the whole wall now, frame and reinstate floor because the old stone went down past floor level and then I can bash on with the install!

For all the Lethal Weapon fans out there... "I'm getting too old for this..."

Also, now hiring a part time but ready on demand physio who is willing to work for home made soup and a pat on the back.

What a great afternoon yesterday at Howe of Fife RFC for the Dave Rollo Legacy Lunch where we were match sponsors also ! Unfortunately the main man Grant couldn’t attend as he has Shingles (!) , but our table was full and represented him well and it really was a fantastic event. The food and speeches were amazing and it was so good to learn about the history of the club and some of the players, everyone was so very friendly and welcoming, it really was a great day so thank you so much! (Unfortunately the result wasn’t great and the Howe didn’t fair well against my home town 😜) Leza x

I've kept this under my hat a little in the last few weeks, but I'm happy to have come on board with some sponsorship for the Howe of Fife RFC this year. I've had a great few years since going self employed, gettier busier and busier each year with lots more of my work being local customers. I'm really happy to give a little something back.

My Dad used to line up as full back for the Howe just a few(ish) short decades ago, still goes to watch and support them when he can and they do really offer a lot to the community with local events, the cafe, lots of opportunity for players of all ages, its great to see.

Hopefully my sponsorship can go a little way to helping the club and all its volunteers keep that going for this season and the years to come. Come along this Saturday and cheer them on!
