Project: Carpet Tile Installation Deal Town Hall,
We recently completed a carpet tile installation project at Deal Town Hall in Kent, where we installed a modern checkered-style carpet tile pattern throughout key communal areas and staircases.
The checkered installation method was chosen not only for its visual appeal, but also for its practicality. By alternating the direction of the carpet tiles, the pattern creates subtle tonal variation which adds depth and character to large commercial spaces. This style is particularly effective in public buildings such as town halls, as it helps disguise wear patterns, foot traffic marks, and minor staining over time. The result is a professional, long-lasting finish that maintains its appearance even in busy environments.
To secure the tiles, we used a light tackifier adhesive Gekko G47 canister adhesive. This system provides excellent grip to hold the carpet tiles firmly in place, while still allowing individual tiles to be lifted and replaced if future maintenance or access is required. This is a major advantage in commercial and communal buildings where ongoing maintenance and flexibility are important.
The adhesive system is especially beneficial in high traffic areas such as communal staircases, where additional stability is needed to prevent movement and maintain safety under constant daily use.
Carpet tiles are an ideal flooring solution for communal buildings such as town halls, offices, and public facilities due to their durability, practicality, and ease of maintenance. Unlike broadloom carpet, individual carpet tiles can be replaced quickly and cost effectively if damaged or stained, without disturbing the entire floor area. They also offer excellent acoustic benefits by helping to reduce noise levels in busy public spaces, while providing added comfort underfoot.
Overall, this installation at Deal Town Hall combined durability, functionality, and a clean professional finish suited perfectly to the demands of a busy public building.
