The brief: create beautifully thick curtains to make this entrance hall warmer and stop the draft from the door ✨
Once the main fabric was chosen, we layered it with the right interlining and lining to add warmth and structure. Adding the striped lining meant that the curtains looked just as good through the glass on the outside, adding that extra detail.
Then came the important decision — the pole. With all the curtain weight sitting to one side when open, it had to be sturdy and able to glide smoothly.
pole was the perfect choice, with a wide range of colour ways, finishes and finials (the decorative end pieces) to complete the look.
We also had to considered:
• Single curtain or a pair
• Heading style
• The perfect length (a small puddle = no escaping draughts 👌)
There’s so much more that goes into curtains than meets the eye.
Next time you admire a window treatment, you’ll know just how much thought and decision making goes into your design consultation to create your bespoke piece 🤍
