Today I had such a beautiful day in my workshop with Monika, specialist conservator from the Fitzwilliam Museum. We made parchment together, shared knowledge, laughed so much and had one of those conversations you never want to end. It really felt like we had known each other for years.🥰

Today we also remembered dear Master Ismail..I think he was watching us from somewhere with a smile on his face. Somehow parchment always brings beautiful hearts together.💙

Hope to meet again soon, around parchment, good conversations and beautiful memories.🌸🌿

We had two wonderful days during London Craft Week at the Yunus Emre Institute with our Tiffany Technique stained glass taster workshops.
A huge thank you to all the participants and to the wonderful team at the institute for their warm support and hospitality. I truly enjoyed every moment of these workshops.
Inspired by traditional Turkish geometric motifs, we created small stained glass sun catchers together may they bring light and good luck to the homes of our new stained glass artists. ✨
It was a pleasure working with all of you, and I hope we will meet again for more creative moments together. 💙🌸🌿

Girdle book is a small medieval book made for carrying on the belt. People like monks and travellers used them long time ago. The long leather part helps to hang the book from the belt.
This is my first girdle book try. The book was made from sheep skin parchment and bound with leather. 🐑📚🌿

This large stain appeared during the second lime bath stage of parchment making. Part of the skin lifted to the surface and could not absorb the lime evenly, causing this defect. Completely my mistake but I wanted to share it honestly as part of the process.☺️
To avoid this, the skin should be stirred regularly while soaking so it stays evenly submerged in the lime bath.
Still, I love these imperfections, and I can’t wait to see what this parchment will become.🥰💙
