Today we celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary! What a rollercoaster life has been! When my family found out about Chris I was disowned and they stopped associating with me as I had to be taught a lesson for marrying a white person! For years I was told you deserve all the punishment that was dished out and I just had to accept it and get on with it. The last year has made me realise that I don't need to be owned back as the hurt and sadness they have caused me and my little family is not worth anything. What I have received from my in-laws (including Chris's uncles and aunts) is love and warmth that has made me realise I don't need the cruelty of my family. And I can't say enough thank yous to my lovely friends who have been there to support us every step of the way!
