The master bedroom of our Courtfield Gardens project brings together a calm, understated palette with soft layers of natural materials.

We wanted to create a space that feels easy to come back to at the end of the day, somewhere that helps our clients properly switch off.

The design developed through a hands-on process, starting with a clay model to explore layout and proportion, followed by concept boards used in our client presentations to shape the overall direction.

Swipe through to see parts of that journey, from the CGI through to the concept boards.

Introducing The Usher & Co Studio Day, something we’ve been quietly developing in response to so many conversations with our clients.

Often, people come to us at a point where they have ideas, plans, and a vision beginning to take shape but they’re not quite sure how to bring it all together.

They don’t necessarily need a full interior design service at that stage, but they do want guidance, reassurance, and a sense that they’re making the right decisions for their home.

The Studio Day was created for exactly that moment.

It’s a full day in our studio, working one-to-one with one of our designers, entirely focused on you and your project. A chance to sit down together, talk things through properly, and explore the ideas that will shape how your home feels to live in.

Some clients arrive with detailed drawings, others with saved images and a long list of questions. We often find it’s a mix of both. Wherever you are in your project, we meet you there and build the day around what you need.

If you’re thinking about booking, we always encourage you to choose the designer you feel most drawn to. Each of us brings a different perspective, and that connection is an important part of the process.

From there, you can complete the enquiry form on our website, sharing your plans, imagery and brief, and let us know a preferred date. We’ll come back to you with availability.

For many of our clients, this day becomes the turning point where ideas begin to feel clearer, decisions feel easier, and the project starts to move forward with confidence.

We can’t wait to welcome you into our studio 🖤

At our Kensington Mews project, a single bold change redefines the space.

For the family bathroom, we’ve used CGI as part of our design process to explore how one decision can influence the overall feel. The design itself remains calm and considered, a contemporary scheme layered with natural materials that sit beautifully against the home’s historic character but the floor takes on two very different directions.

In one, a soft peach tone using Rosso Di Scacchi tumbled marble brings warmth and a gentle sense of lightness. In the other, Di Scacchi tumbled marble introduces a deeper, almost black base grounding the space and adding a more dramatic edge.

It’s a confident shift, and one that transforms the atmosphere entirely.

Swipe to see the alternative.

Which would you choose?

The room where our visions come to life, our client meeting room.

We have designed a space which is both calming and inspiring to form the backdrop to our client presentations.

The centrepiece of our client meeting room is the beautiful Rinato Chandelier 5 🖤

A new chapter begins on site in Keston Park, a renovation project we’re incredibly excited to bring to life.

There’s something special about unlocking the potential of an existing space and shaping it into something truly considered and enduring.

We’re just getting started, and we’ll be sharing progress as the transformation unfolds… watch this space.

Our Boston Spa family home project, the hallway has been designed as more than just a space to pass through, it is a moment of arrival that feels deeply personal to the family who live here.

We have layered artwork throughout the scheme to tell a story, creating visual interest while reflecting the personalities and memories that make this house a home. Paired with considered materials and a calm palette, the result is a welcoming entrance that sets the tone for the rest of the interior.

Revisiting Dormer House.

Not every project runs to plan.

When a project pauses, and you return to the brief, you have a choice to either pick it back up where you left it, or revisit the brief.

We always go back to the brief, asking is it relevant now, have the family changed, does it feel like how they are actually living now. Is it still right.

Time away from a project changes things for both the client and the designer.
This original scheme was once much more muted and monochromatic.
Returning to it, we’ve introduced warmth, richness and depth, through the marble, the joinery, and the overall tone of the space.

There’s an important distinction between just finishing a space, and taking a pause and getting it right.

London Design Week is always such a welcome marker in the design calendar.

A chance to step away from the studio for a day or two, reconnect with the industry, and immerse yourself in the creativity that sits at the heart of what we all do. This year felt particularly joyful from the beautiful Spring blooms throughout the to the abundance of colour, texture and craftsmanship on display.

One of the real highlights was taking part in the workshops hosted by . There’s something incredibly grounding about slowing down and revisiting the skill and detail behind the pieces we specify so often.

Days like these are such a good reminder that inspiration doesn’t always come from sitting at your desk. Sometimes it comes from wandering showrooms, having thoughtful conversations, and allowing yourself the space to notice the details.

And, of course, a little dose of Spring colour never hurts either.

Here is our Courtfield Gardens project.

Good design doesn’t happen in a moment.
It is detailed a process.

A journey of spatial planning, careful thought, and the considered layering of materials.

Before we design anything, we take time to understand our clients, how they live, what matters to them, and how they want their home to feel.

From there, the vision begins to evolve.

Drawings.
We explore materials.
We develop the physical.

Each stage refining the last.

The final step, before we sign off a scheme, is the CGI, bringing the vision to life and allowing our clients to see the space before it is built.

In a world where AI imagery and reality are becoming harder to distinguish, we believe in showing the full journey of our projects.

Not just the final image.

But the human thinking, craft, and process behind it.
