At this stage, the focus isn’t on choosing products. It’s about understanding how the space needs to function day to day, how it should feel, and how it connects to the rest of the home. These early concept boards, spatial studies and visuals help shape a clear, considered direction — giving the project confidence and coherence as it moves forward.

Stage 2 builds on this foundation, translating the concept into a more detailed and resolved design.

✨Starfish Enterprise Co-Working and Business Hub

I was invited by the to bring ideas and inspiration for the new co-working space at King Street — a historic Victorian pub reimagined as a welcoming hub for start-ups and small businesses.

The brief was to create a vintage-inspired, community-focused space that balanced heritage character with flexible, practical design. I developed 3D visuals, layouts and material palettes to guide the transformation — ensuring the finished space feels warm, inviting and full of personality.

It’s been wonderful to see the journey from a derelict building to a vibrant workspace that now supports Weymouth’s growing business community.

…and relax ☺️ I’m signing off now for Christmas and intend to have a bit of a digital detox to focus on the important things - family, self-care and Prosecco 😂

It’s been an absolutely amazing year at Claire Dunn Interiors, keeping me busy all year round. I’ve enjoyed working on some amazing projects including an office refurbishment (with more for the same client in the pipeline), numerous consultations, holiday cottage styling and family home renovations.

I’ve also got to know an amazing group of business women who have been my rocks and supported me all the way - they know who they are 😘

There’s lots to look forward to in 2025 too!

⭐️Two office renovations in the New Year and the continuation of the community Co-working space in Weymouth. This is such an exciting project and I’m honoured to be working as part of the team bringing a run-down building back to life - more to come on this project next year.

⭐️I’ll also be working on the interior design for Scandi inspired open plan kitchen, dining and living space.

⭐️In March and May I will be hosting some Year 10 students for work experience, showing them what life is really like as an interior designer!

✨ Turning a Run-Down Building into a Thriving Business Hub ✨

Transforming a space isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about creating a place where functionality, safety, and creativity all come together.

At the moment, I’m working on a project in Weymouth to bring new life to an historic building on King Street. The aim? To create a vibrant facility for local businesses, including offices, a co-working space, and a community café that will support young businesses and offer networking, mentorship, and workshops. But there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye.

Challenges I’m Tackling:
🔨 Adhering to Building Regulations: Ensuring the space meets strict building codes while still being functional and beautiful is always a challenge. It’s about finding the balance between compliance and creativity.

📊 Maximising the Space: With the goal of creating an environment that can accommodate the maximum number of people without sacrificing comfort or style, every layout decision counts. It’s crucial to make sure the space remains viable for business, while also being a place people enjoy working in.

💡 Working with Experts: One of the things I love most is collaborating with professionals from different fields—engineers, planners, and architects—each contributing their expertise to make this vision a reality.

The Excitement: Seeing a run-down building transform into a dynamic, thriving space is so rewarding. In just a few months, this shell of a building will become a collaborative and creative hub for local businesses—what an exciting journey!

🎄Tip Tuesday - Deck the Halls with Colour Harmony! 🎄

Now's the time to transform your home into a festive wonderland with the 60:30:10 Rule – an interior design principle that creates balance and elegance in any space. Here's how you can apply it to your Christmas décor:

🔹 60%: Primary Colour
Set the foundation of your Christmas colour scheme with a dominant colour – think the greenery of your Christmas tree, neutral walls, or a snowy white tablecloth. This provides the perfect backdrop for the rest of your scheme.

🔹 30%: Secondary Colour
Choose a complementary hue for about a third of your décor – classic Christmas reds, shimmering golds, or icy blues work beautifully. Add this with garlands, ornaments, or festive tableware.

🔹 10%: Accent Colour
Add a touch of drama with a bold accent – sparkling silver, rich burgundy, or even a trendy pop of burnt orange. Incorporate it through ribbons, candles, or statement baubles.

Here's a throwback to last month's incredible interior design workshop! 🎉 We had such a wonderful evening at Campbellwick Interiors, where we explored everything from the 60:30:10 rule to colour psychology. Attendees created stunning mood boards and took home plenty of design inspiration for their spaces. Earthy terracotta's were a common theme among the participants - maybe a trend to watch out for! Terracotta is such a warm, cocooning colour which helps to ground us and give us stability. It can be combined with deep greens or navy blue for a sophisticated, earthy palette.
