A day in the life of an interior designer. Photoshoot day for my latest residential project.

This is what it looks like when a project is finished and the camera comes out.

What I love about this shoot? My photographer and I met at a local interior design networking event a reminder that some of the best collaborations start with a conversation in the right room.

Hi everyone,
I’m Laura, an interior designer based in Dorchester and founder of Olive & Wilde Studios.

I’m hosting a Moodboard Workshop on 21st March and thought it might be of interest to anyone who loves interiors or is currently thinking about their home.

One of the most common things I hear from people is “I have lots of ideas but I don’t know how to pull them together.” This workshop is designed to help with exactly that. Through a relaxed, hands-on session we’ll explore colours, textures and inspiration to create a moodboard that helps you uncover the “red thread” running through your style.

It’s suitable whether you're planning a room refresh, moving house, or simply want a creative afternoon exploring interiors.

All materials and magazines are provided, and no design experience is needed.

The summer solstice is nearly here, my most favourite and wah saddest day of the year 😅

This palette came from a sunset image I took last summer in Spain at The Spanish House ()
The sand was still warm underfoot, the sea felt like a bath and the sky was my favourite bubblegum pink and purple. Delish!!!

I pulled those tones into a fabric scheme: think slubby linen, boucle, soft cotton with a dash of unexpected silk! These kinds of textures don’t just photograph well they feel good to live with and you just want to stroke them all day.

Design like this isn’t about copying the view and doing a literal imitation.
It’s about building a space that carries the same energy and makes your guests feel instinctively connected to their environment.

This palette? Pulled from a forest fringed cove in Corfu. Think deep sea blues, sun bleached coral stone, and the soft, grounding greens of pine along the cliffs.
