Sideboard makeover complete 🍊🫒🤩 swipey swipe ➡️ to see the transformation.
She was a big old beauty … well loved … but in need of a makeover to suit her new home which is a barn conversion.
Barn conversions, especially with the old beams showing are gorgeous and tend to suit quite a rustic style (in my opinion!).
With that in mind and of course conversations with her owner, the colours were chosen and I whipped out my paint brush, cracked open a tin of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Barcelona Orange 🍊… and … frightened the internet 😂 … yep, it seemed a rather controversial start … but … I knew how she was going to look and the process needed to give her a sympathetic makeover that would suit both her history and also her new home.
The fabulous bright orange was more than subdued with a coat of Olive 🫒 Chalk Paint, some distressing and clear and dark wax to protect the finish and bring a warm, aged depth to her.
I hope you like her as much as I do … and more importantly, her happy owner … who said ‘omg she looks absolutely stunning Annie thank you so so much’!
