🐝 Well, I never thought I’d end up looking like a Picasso beauty — a one-million-dollar painting — but here we are.

The morning of the bee attack I actually rescued a little bumble bee that looked dehydrated. Gave it a pit stop at the bee pub (sugar water). That’s karma for you, isn’t it? 🐝đŸș

Fast-forward a few hours: I out-fox a sheep (long story), feel victorious, and then on the way back get ambushed by a bee. First a sting in the hairline, then a full-on buzzing assault
and just to top it off, one nailed me on the earlobe. Normally I don’t have sticky-out ears, but the right side is currently doing a fine impression of Dumbo
or, more accurately, I look like a portrait of one of Picasso’s beauties — one-million-dollar portraits, you know, the asymmetrical face, one slightly off-centre big ear, a funny half-closed eye
 the lot. 🎹

Being home alone, getting a stinger out of your own ear is no easy task. So it was antihistamines, aloe vera, and green tea (because Google says it blocks histamine — worth a shot). Still ended up with sore throat, brain fog, and the whole swollen-face Picasso effect.

And yes, I Dr Googled more today — turns out your immune system changes as you age, so what used to be “just a nip” can suddenly hit much harder.

👉 Moral of the story: beekeepers, beware. Suit up, carry antihistamines, and don’t shrug it off. Those little ladies pack a serious punch.

đŸ§”âœš A very special collaboration with The Weaving Shed ✹

We’re delighted to share our latest creations: exclusive, one-off tea cosies, handmade by us using stunning tweed woven by the incredibly talented team at The Weaving Shed, a family-run gem in the Outer Hebrides. 💚

As we transition towards producing hand-finished, bespoke products, it’s been such a joy to create these unique pieces—each one made from our clients’ very own tweed, woven with care and tradition by The Weaving Shed’s skilled hands.

🌿 Based in Crossbost on the Isle of Lewis, The Weaving Shed is run by the wonderful Hamilton family. Their award-winning workshop produces small-batch, heritage-inspired tweeds using traditional Hattersley looms and a mix of beautifully sourced yarns—some even from their own sheep!

We feel so lucky to collaborate with such passionate craftspeople, and it’s always a treat to see a client receive their first order: a truly personal, one-of-a-kind item full of story, texture, and soul.

Hasn’t the weather been fabulous? -I’m feeling great thanks to a new yoga and walking routine! Feeling grateful for my good health —no complaints here.

Apologies for being a little quiet on here—we’ve been busy behind the scenes with a lovely mix of new and returning customers. It’s been especially encouraging to receive such positive feedback on our new products.

This week, we’re looking forward to the arrival of a client’s tweed—it’s always a joy to work with fabrics that have a personal story and I can’t wait to get started.

And don’t worry, Bettina—we haven’t forgotten our loyal customers! Your lampshade is on its way to Germany today and I’m really looking forward to seeing your photos when it arrives.

The stained glass appliqué class were very pleased with their results, and you can see why. Chrissie did an excellent job teaching this fiddly technique but the effect is stunning and very appropriate for spring.
