Droitwich, your road needs you! 🚗

One month to go in the road competition. The 5 Droitwich roads with the most comments by the end of 30th November each win 25% off carpets and vinyls.

Right now the comments are spread thin, so it's genuinely all to play for. If your road has been mentioned even once, you could be in the running.

How to take part:
Comment your road name below.
Tag your friends and neighbours from your road.
Every comment counts towards your road's total.

Anyone living on a winning road can claim, you'll just need proof of address showing the road when you come in.

Roads must be in Droitwich to count.

LJP Carpets, Droitwich, WR9 8JB. We supply and fit carpets, vinyls and LVT around Droitwich, covering Kidderminster and Worcestershire.

Worried carpet is on its way out in new homes? It isn't.

The rules for new build homes in England were being drawn up, and the first draft would have made it almost impossible to fit carpet in many of them. The flooring industry pushed back, and the final rules were changed. Carpet stays fully available, and official guidance now points builders towards the industry's own best practice documents.

If you're building or renovating, that means you can still choose the floor you actually want. Carpet for the bedrooms where you want warmth and quiet, vinyl or LVT for the busy areas. Your home, your choice.

Are you team carpet or team hard floor for the bedrooms?

Muddy boots, dropped sweets and a hallway full of trick-or-treaters. Halloween can be a busy night at home! 🎃

A practical floor can help make the evening easier, while a warm, welcoming hallway is ready for every little visitor. Thinking about refreshing your hall or living room before Halloween?

What happens on fitting day? Here’s the simple run-through.

Before we arrive, clear the room as agreed and make sure there’s a clear route in. If removing the old flooring is part of the job, we’ll take that up first. Then we check the floor underneath and prepare it for the new covering.

We measure and fit your chosen carpet, vinyl or LVT, trim the edges and finish around doorways. Before we leave, we’ll tidy up and let you know when it’s ready to walk on, along with any care advice.

UPDATE for the Droitwich roads competition! 🚗

Big change: we're extending it. You now have until the end of Monday 30th November to get your road's comments in. That's a whole extra month.

The 5 roads with the most comments by 30th November each win 25% off carpets and vinyls. Anyone living on a winning road can claim, you'll just need proof of address showing your road when you come in.

So far the posts have had thousands of views but only a handful of road comments, which means it's genuinely all to play for. If your road has been mentioned once, that could be enough to be in the running.

Comment your road name below, tag your friends and neighbours from your road, and every comment counts towards your road's total.

Bonfire Night is nearly here, and the hallway takes the hit.

Wet boots, damp coats, leaves stuck to every shoe that comes through the door. It all lands in the same few square metres by the front door.

This is where vinyl and LVT quietly earn their keep. A quick sweep and a damp mop and the hallway looks like nobody came in from the fireworks at all. No scrubbing, no stains, no worrying about what the rain has dragged in.

If your hallway is taking a beating this time of year, it might be worth looking at something tougher underfoot before the winter properly sets in.

Patterns are coming back to floors.

For years it was all plain planks and safe greys. The 2026/27 trend reports are pointing the other way now: vintage-inspired patterns, tessellated designs and decorative tile looks are making a return, especially in hallways, kitchens and boot rooms.

It makes sense. A patterned floor does the work of a rug without the trip hazard, it hides everyday marks better than a plain floor, and it turns a hallway into something people notice when they walk in.

Modern LVT and quality vinyl give you these looks with all the practical benefits: warm underfoot, easy to clean and tough enough for real family life.

The showroom is the place to see the pattern ranges properly. Take a sample home and check it against your own walls and light before you decide.

Would you be brave enough for a patterned floor, or are you a plain plank household?
