Even after all these years of making stuff I still take great pride in my work and particularly happy with how this ceiling turned out.

There’s something special about working with a single solid tree slice. Every growth ring tells a story, every crack is part of its character, and no two pieces will ever be the same.

This handcrafted coffee table celebrates the natural beauty of the timber rather than hiding it. Mounted on a bespoke steel base, it’s a statement piece built to last for generations.

Finished bespoke bedroom fit-out

Custom storage, floating shelves, handcrafted timber details and a layout designed specifically for the space including hidden trundle bed. Delighted with how this one turned out.

“See the journey — from framing to a finished room with built-in shelves, bench storage, feature panelling and a handmade solid-wood table.
Everything here was designed, built and fitted to suit the space and customers vision.
If you’re thinking about a custom build for your own home — shelving, seating, media walls or full room transformations — Giant Oaks would love to help bring it to life.”

Tried something a bit different on this project — using a traditional wood-staining method made from vinegar and wire wool to give the timber a beautifully aged, natural look. Subtle tones, rich depth, and a real handmade character coming through in the grain. Here’s a few shots of the process and finish taking shape!
