Tutu the bird👨🏭👨🏭👨🏭
This is Tutu. He made his debut at Sheffield art in the gardens so it was a bit of pressure trying to get him finished before the event and was finished the evening before!
The centre of his body is an old hand winch. I kept it intact with the the coil of wire if you look at his breast. There is a number of Sheffield made items from his moore and write beak made from a pair of large calipers. His name Tutu originated from his tail as that is partially made from a old wood planing blade made by Pharaoh of Sheffield.
Some other little features I like are the feathers made from a set of sparkplug spanners on the back of his neck, these are dated 1945! I also like makes his rebar feathers that I forged and welded together and wrap around his body. Another great feature was his claws. These are made out of some black bolts that have a great texture to them.
He found a new home less than 24 hour after he was finished which was great to see!
