Vintage vibes with these fingerless gloves. Really happy with the way they have made up 😍. They were made to pair up with the 'Raspberry Trifle' scarf I made just before Christmas.

It's a wrap! 😅.

Another finished project. This one is for an expectant mum so she can cover up when nursing if she wants to 🥰. 9,511 stitches of love went into making this.

I made a thing. In fact I've made a few things but haven't had opportunity to post for a while.

This is a very wide scarf I made as a Christmas gift. The spec was pinky purple colours and wide enough to wrap around their head. I adore the colours, it reminds me of those Swizzles Squashies sweets 🤤.

I officially name this scarf wrap, 'Raspberry Trifle', being all Christmassy and that 😁🎄✨️.

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas 🤶 🎄 💜🧚‍♀️

WIP no. 3548 I think 🤔 😆.

This is a 15 inch square I've created, which will be 1 of 4 centre squares I'm making for a blanket. This is possibly the most technical piece I've made and using a really awkward yarn from Hobbii, called Dhalia. Because I seem to be intent on extra challenging stuff 😆. 100% cotton and 4 individual strands to a single piece of yarn, which separate a lot 🙈.

The pattern is called Sophie's Dream by Dedri Uys and Jenny Lowman. I've used my own pattern to edge the last few rows to build out the stitch count as I'm going to surround it in smaller squares. I wish photos captured how lovely this is, I'm really pleased with it 😍.

I'm slowly building confidence to create more of my own patterns as I'm learning more new stitches and their behaviour with different shapes.

WIP for this weekend.

I've made myself a promise to finally finish all my work in progress (and I have so many! 🙈).

First up is a glasses chain I started last year for my son in laws lovely mum. She loves summer colours and I've chosen red roses 🌹 as the theme for her glasses chain.

I used a 0.75mm hook with cotton thread for the roses and leaves and a 1.25mm hook and crochet thread for the chain.

I have a few more requests for glasses chains with different flowers and themes so watch this space. I may make these to sell at some point as they seem to be popular 😍.

So far I have created the chain and flowers, and I'm currently putting together the bunches of flowers which I'll attach to the chain soon.

First post in a long while!

Last year we adopted our first rescue woof and it has been wonderful but rather time, and energy consuming, so my crafting has taken a back seat but the itch and need to regulate has taken hold again so I've gotten my hooks out for some exercise!

I recently made a cardigan for my Maunty and had some left over yarn. Feeling the need for a quick project, I returned to one of my favourite patterns, a cable stitch for an ear warmer. Perhaps a little out of season but hopefully it will be useful come winter time 😅. Love this colour 😍

Doilies! A traditional item which was very popular in the Victorian era. It seems to be making a bit of a come back as I'm seeing lots of crafters producing these and the patterns are absolutely stunning 😍.

Many of you know my favourite colour is purple. I have a bedroom which is draped in this delicious hue. I wanted to protect my furniture from scratches and I couldn't find just the right thing to do the job....so in typical Knotting Faerie style, I decided to make it.

This was made using a crochet cotton thread and the pattern is by the super talented Draiguna.

I was working on my first amigurumi a couple months ago and I can now post the completed project. It is a Kodama (tree spirit) from the anime Princess Mononoke. Their little heads rattle when they shake them so I added a rattle in the head of this one and used glow in the dark yarn. I'm quite pleased with the outcome.

I searched high and low for a pattern which did the anime justice and I was really pleased to find one on a French site. Google translate was handy 😅 but not all the abbreviations translated well so I improvised a bit. Picture included of the actual anime artwork for comparison.

Can't wait to have a go at creating more crochet critters 😁

I've been a busy Faerie this past couple of months so I've neglected my page. I'm proud to post my latest creation today however. Spec was an overnight bag for my son.

I created a messenger style bag using the Suzette crochet stitch and wanted to give the bag some rigidity as it's quite big, so I dusted off my sewing machine and quilt lined the bag in an anime print fabric.

Not content with exercising two different crafts on this project, I turned my hand for the first time to leathercraft. Created my own leather connectors and created my own bag strap (I now have yet another hobby and related tools 😆).

This project was a labour of love and took ages to complete. I am really happy with the results, what do you reckon guys? 😊

Crochet hair accessories.

Last year I made hair bands/ear warmers and a hair scrunchy. I have been meaning to make more hair scrunchies for a while and may decide to create them as something to sell when I'm ready.

I really dislike hair around my face and have worn this scrunchy to death. It's better than a fabric one and doesn't pull on the hair as much.

What do you think guys? Do you think this would be of interest to people? As sets perhaps?

Crochet blankets and throws.

This is a work in progress which I started earlier this year. I found a neat little app to plan out my square placement called Crochet Studio, which I've shown below. I'm using cotton DK weight and a smaller hook than usual for the yarn weight as I wanted a tighter look to the work. My first time using colour changes in this way and it took a bit of getting the hang of. It was also my first time 'blocking' a piece of work and I'm quite impressed with how effective it is. The before, during and after blocking pics are below.

The project will take a total of 49 squares to complete and then I'm joining them all together in a different colour. I'm 3/4's of they way through them now but it's anyones guess when it will be completed 😅.

Pattern I'm using is called Casablanca by Pattern Paradise.
