Watch this one come together 🔥

A full time-lapse of us building a bespoke false chimney breast from metal studwork, installing the wood-burning stove and fitting the twin-wall flue system.

A lot of work condensed into a few seconds, but what a transformation 👌

Little tip when using steel studwork 👌

Slide a piece of timber inside the C-stud to act as a pattress wherever the TV bracket will sit. It gives the fixings something solid to bite into once the wall is boarded 📺🔩

These steel stud crimpers really help to speed us the job. Why I never bought some years ago... I'll never know 😂

Serious question… when did scaffolders stop leaving ladders? 😂

The scaffold has been put up because access is awkward in the first place, but then you arrive and the one thing you actually need to get onto it is missing!

Scaffold: ✅
Ladder: ❌

Any scaffolders care to explain? Are we just expected to levitate now? 😂

🔥 JOB OPPORTUNITY – TRAINEE STOVE INSTALLER’S MATE 🔥

Fleming Stove Installations Ltd is looking for a reliable, hardworking person to join us on a self-employed subcontractor basis.

No previous stove-installation experience is necessary. We’re looking for somebody eager to learn the trade properly from the ground up, who listens, takes pride in their work and pays close attention to detail.

The role involves physically demanding manual work, fireplace removals, carrying materials, assisting with stove and flue installations, keeping sites clean and working at height from ladders, scaffolding, roofs and access equipment. You must be comfortable with heights and prepared for some dirty, heavy work.

You’ll need to be punctual, dependable, practical and willing to learn. Some days may finish later depending on the job.

We currently have around five days’ work available each week and a very busy year ahead. However, the stove industry can sometimes be seasonal, with more work during winter and quieter periods during summer, so the amount of work cannot be guaranteed throughout every year.

You must either live locally to Sedgley and be able to get here reliably each morning, or hold a full driving licence if travelling from further away.

Day rate to be discussed depending on experience and suitability.

If you’re genuinely interested, please message the Fleming Stove Installations page with:

Your name
Where you live
Whether you have a driving licence
Any relevant work experience
Why you think you’d suit the role
When you would be available to start

Please share with anyone who may be suitable.

The right tools make all the difference 👌

I’m not a plasterer—I’m completely self-taught—but using the SuperSkim, sponge float and spatulas, even I can get walls this flat.

On this one, we sponge-floated the plaster before flattening and finishing it with the spatula. I genuinely don’t think I could achieve this finish using only a traditional trowel.

Perfectly flat walls made much easier with the right equipment 🔥

The video is sped up, but how long do you think this took us in real time? 👀

A 205mm hole core drilled at 45° through a 300mm-thick cavity wall using our Eibenstock Power Tools - UK EHD 1801.

Another stunning transformation 🔥

Finished with a black slate hearth, brick slips with corner reveals, a Heritage Focuscast beam and an Ecosy Panoramic multifuel stove — a timeless combination that completely transforms the room.
