Situated in one of the most beautiful areas of countryside in Dumfries & Galloway keeps our family led business in touch with traditional values and what it means to have a functional yet elegant kitchen, bespoke study or bedroom and the handcrafted furniture to go in it. We take pride in training our own apprentices – all six of our fully certificated craftsmen joined the company as apprentices a

nd now have a combined total of over 200 years of experience, working to the highest standards of craftsmanship in all types of natural materials such as oak, walnut, marble and granite right here in our own workshop. For more than 30 years we have specialised in creating custom built rooms and furniture for your home. Every commission is individually designed using the latest CAD design software and hand-built to order. Our service includes full project management including ancillary trades right through to installation and the very last coat of paint. We have no standard patterns or styles – let your imagination run free with no constraint. All of our projects enjoy the quality which traditional carpentry brings to a room or piece of furniture:

All front frames and doors with mortise and tenon joints
Traditional recessed hinges

Extensive use of hand tools
Hand finishes including painting by hand

Our handmade vanity cabinet, crafted in rich walnut and topped with a sleek quartz surface. The soft grain, the weight of the materials, and those elegant curved cabriole legs - all carefully shaped and finished by hand in our workshop.

A new chapter at Hiddlestons….

After many years with the business, Tommy is stepping into a well-earned retirement. Having created and built Hiddlestons from the ground up since 1983, his impact has been significant and lasting, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything he’s done.

We’d also like to recognise Duncan, who recently retired after working alongside Tommy for many years. His contribution to the business has been equally valued.

We are delighted to announce that Ricky will now be taking on the role of Director, leading Hiddlestons forward, while Jayne moves into the position of Creative Director, continuing to shape the design side of the business.

We’ve also recently welcomed Ewan to the team, an excellent addition who will be supporting both joinery projects and project management.

We’re lucky to have such a passionate, dedicated and talented team and are looking forward to continuing to collaborate with our clients on their projects going forward.

Playful, and full of personality ✨

These bespoke wardrobes were created by us to make a statement while still feeling timeless. Painted in Little Greene’s Blush, the soft pink brings warmth and calm to the space, while the slab detailing keeps everything feeling refined and tailored.

Our client opted for Matilda Goad brass k***s and star backplates to add that unexpected, joyful twist which finishes off the wardrobes perfectly ✨

A calm, timeless space designed to be lived in…

We recently completed this handmade in-frame kitchen, crafted with care and precision using traditional joinery techniques.

Hand painted in a refined Farrow & Ball eggshell finish, the soft cabinetry is perfectly complemented by elegant solid brass handles and warm natural textures throughout.

Featuring premium Gaggenau and Westin appliances, this kitchen blends understated luxury with everyday performance.

The statement mantle framing the induction hob adds classic architectural character to this stunning barn conversion while the generous island creates a practical and social heart of the home - ideal for cooking, gathering, and everything in between.

Every drawer, shelf, and detail was thoughtfully considered, handmade, and fitted with pride to stand the test of time.

Patinated brass tapware and stunning solid brass handles by compliment the ever popular Eternal Calacatta Gold quartz worktop which will look amazing with the antique silver finishes mirror splash back behind our clients Aga.

A kitchen designed for living, gathering, and celebrating the details…

Our clients came to us with an amazing design brief and vision, from the layered quartzite worktops and bespoke oak cabinetry with hidden pantry to the warm brass accents and textural finishes, every element in this space was crafted to balance timeless elegance with modern comfort. We love how this project came out!

A recent moodboard-in-progress from our showroom.

We are seeing a huge increase in our clients opting for warmer neutrals along with darker complimenting shades, particularly reds and browns. Adding in antique brass hardware pulls the scheme together beautifully - we can’t wait to see this one come to life!

Throwback post to this gorgeous little pantry we created for our client. Our designer suggested adding a pop of colour using Little Greene’s Heat for the cabinet doors and frames which our client loved.

Finished with a quartz worktop, LED lighting and internal oak carcase with dovetail drawers, this little lady is all ready to be put to good use in her new home.
