Here's a wee puzzle for you: Found on the beach today.
Is it purely geological or are we looking at a fossil?
Approx. 10cm long. Quartz on the inside. Serpentine(?) on the outside.

We didn't go beachcombing particularly, but a day trip to our neighbouring seaside resort meant a walk on the (wind blasted) beach...and we just can't help ourselves 😁

We have soooo many jars of beach treasure that we now never go out with the specific aim to pick sea glass or sea pottery. But living minutes away from a beach rich in treasures, even a stroll to the shops or the pub can result in bounty. This tray of beauties, roughly sorted and washed, is half the contents of a small tub, collected over two months or so. It's high time for some clocks we think (see what we did there 😁)

Inspired by the first gannets we've spotted recently from "our" beach, Mr. P has combined his love for a dram with his love of beachcombing.
The result are these wee beauties - a little unique souvenir from East Lothian.

Beachcombing has brought up some interesting pieces lately.
We think the piece of depleted plywood wants to be a wing.
Brass saucier spoon that's lost its bone handle
We LOVE the half marble (?)
As for the two pieces of shiny pottery - they have clearly not been in the for that long...was there a Greek wedding nearby recently?
