This will be the most complicated dryad yet!
~
Trying something new with this Mushroom Dryad and actually working on a body form - although I still chickened out and left out her hands 😅

Her face is only 3cm wide so it's going to be super interesting to form her face ✨

I received a modelmaking commission! - With a bit of a surprise...
~
So I've known about this for a few months now, but the ball is finally rolling! 🥳
The commission involves making a diorama of Broad Street in Stirling - set in the 1820s.
~
Still not 100% sure how much I can chat about the actual project as they're not quite ready to properly advertise the event - but I have been given permission to post about the progress of the models via socials!
~
And that was the surprise! - Yesterday I rather suddenly found out that we're actually making two models rather than just the one... (there goes my hopes of a mildly-chaotic-but-chill month) 😅
~
So prepare yourself for mostly nothing but modelmaking from me over the next few weeks (and if I'm lucky and not a floor pancake - hopefully some felting mixed in!)

Felt your very own wool painting with our new workshop! ✨
~
Hosted at the Old Pistol Factory in Doune, take the chance to learn the basics of needle felting as you create this corriedale wool painting depicting the Scottish Highlands - made all the more perfect with the addition of adorable blacknose sheep!
~
You will learn how to blend colours, evaluate image proportions, create detail, and needle-felt a flat surface.
~
All materials and tools will be provided (including tea, coffee and biscuits!)

Studio Day 16: It has been too long! While I've popped in and out of the Studio, this has been my first day in a while that I've been able to actively work for a longer period of time, and look what I finished and started!

I finished the second version of a construction plan for Radical Weavers new project (can't wait to start building)

And I made some progress on the Mushroom Dryad! 🍄✨

Have you picked your favourite yet?

(Personally, I'm torn between No.1 - Cherry Blossom and No.3 - Peach Blossom. As weird as it might sound they both make me excited for spring to swing back 'round again)
~
But I finally got around to sticking these down and they are now available on the website! Although all this computer work is minorly burning me out - definitely going to be clawing for some creative time this week.
