Sewing Tuition in Dundee! At Sew Confident Dundee we teach a range of sewing and craft classes for all abilities. We also consume quite a lot of tea!

Classes are designed to build confidence and teach sewing skills in bite size sessions. We pride ourselves on providing a fun and friendly learning environment with a big emphasis on the social side of sewing. ALWAYS WANTED TO TRY NEEDLE FELTING? 🧶✨

Well, what are you waiting for?! Grab your crafty bestie and come and give it a go! 🙌

What actually IS needle felting?

It’s a wonderfully satisfying craft where you use a special barbed needle to shape and sculpt wool into all sorts of lovely things. Think cute characters, little decorations and handmade creations you’ll be ridiculously proud of!

And why bring a friend? Because crafting is even better with a bit of a giggle, a good blether and someone to admire your handiwork (or help you when your wool has other ideas 😂).

No experience needed, just come along, try something new and enjoy a little creative time for yourself. You can give it a shot at our Big Crafty Weekend. The Needle Felting Class is on the 6th December 10-12.30pm. If you want to try out something else then we have the whole weekend of festive crafting, beautiful things to make and absolutely NO sewing machines in sight! 🎄✂️

Always wanted to try your hand at sewing but have no idea where to begin? Or perhaps you are looking to reignite a love after a long ol’ break… That dusty machine of yours needs some TLC! Book yourself into our Beginner’s Course and you’ll be sewing in no time!

Our Beginner’s Course is suitable for never-touched-a-sewing-machine-before-beginners, and returning sewists alike. The classes are focused on building your machine confidence up, teaching you useful, transferable skills that will set you up for a successful sewing journey in a super friendly and sociable environment.

The class begins at the most basic level; learning how to thread up a machine, the ins and outs of the machine and then we’ll get cracking with making! You’ll leave the class with four sewing projects under your belt: a tote bag, bunting, a zipped (yes zipped!) and lined makeup bag and a piped cushion. These projects have been carefully picked to teach you a wide range of what we believe are the most useful skills for a sewist. You’ll use them again and again until you’re a pro!

There’s no need to bring your own machine to class – at Sew Confident we supply the goods, including tea, coffee and unlimited biscuits!

The next Evening class runs over 5 consecutive weeks on Tuesdays starting October 27th 6.00-8.30pm.

After completing this course all our other courses open up to you – that’s right even dressmaking! So jump in and we will get you where you want to be in no time whether that is making your own clothes, sewing your own homewares or making amazing quilts!

Our Liberty bias binding is here to add that extra *chef’s kiss* finishing touch to your makes! Perfect for edging a neckline, finishing a quilt, adding a pop of colour inside a jacket or just showing off a gorgeous print where you least expect it.

And of course, bias binding is just the beginning… we also have a lovely selection of Liberty fabrics in store for all your dressmaking, quilting and other fabric-loving plans!

Because sometimes you need a whole project in that print… and sometimes just a little bit will do! 🙌

I know, I know, I KNOW… 🙈🎄 But it really IS time to get the diary out and book in with your pals for one of our favourite classes of the year… WREATH MAKING WEEKEND! 27/28/29th Nov 🎅🏻🌿

Honestly, is there a better way to kick off the festive season than a bit of greenery, a LOT of decorations, some fizz and a mince pie or two?! 🥂

Sandra will talk you through the whole process, from making your wreath using fresh spruce to decorating it and making it completely your own. And trust us when we say we have some of the BEST embellishments around! 😍

🌿 Love a natural look? We’ve got pine cones, cinnamon sticks, dried fruit slices and whole fruits to give your wreath that gorgeous rustic feel.

🎀 More is more? YOU DO YOU! We’ve got colourful baubles, ribbons, berries and all the extras you could possibly want.

✨ A bit of sparkle? Of course! There are glitter sprays ready and waiting to give your wreath that extra festive ✨oomph✨.
